Oct. 16th, 2016 07:15 pmME3 blather- Just finished up Priority: Rannoch today, which was the only mission I was really worried about. It actually ended up being easier then I remembered, even on insanity. Though I think part of my issue before was frustration- I have auto-save turned off because its been known to cause save corruption on the ps3 from time to time. As such, whenever I continued, I had to restart all the way back from when you get the blast doors opened and had to lase things for the Normandy. So whenever I died, I had to redo that, go through a cutscene, run to the tank Legion commandeered, endure another cutscene, go through the Reaper chase, then sit through ANOTHER cutscene, until finally its time to face the Reaper.
Heh, turns out with autosave, you would restart right at the Reaper. Which not having to sit through all that would obviously be less frustrating. Amusingly enough, I went through all that crap twice before deciding to turn on autosave and finding out where you restart where you do, but then I actually beat it that time!
But yeah, looks like what I think is the hardest part is over, so hopefully its smooth sailing from here. As I said, I'm going to skip the Leviathan/Omega/Citadel DLCs and just beat the game outright to get the insanity and unwavering trophies to unlock. Then depending on whether I can get save editing to work, I'll just new game+ again and edit that save to switch the Virmire survivor to Kaidan and play the game through with him. After all, that's the only thing I'd be missing after getting those last two trophies, unlocking reave as a bonus power. Then I'll re-do the DLC in that playthrough.
