TV commentary:

The 100- How did I not know the actor playing Bellamy was Filipino? I kept wondering why people were talking about the "bad" guys in Arkadia right now are PoCs (him, Pike, and Hannah). Well, my Flip pride makes me like him less now. Also, its kinda amusing since Octavia's actress is Greek (or at least I assume Avgerpoulos is Greek), yet they're playing brother and sister.

Overlord- Found out about this show randomly and watched it because the concept amused me. So basically, this dude became super powerful in this Dive MMORPG, and after 12 years it was finally shutting down. All his guild mates had left the game because they had real lives. And I guess he doesn't? (Not that we find out anything about the guy's "real" self) So, he decides to stay on the servers until they're shut down, I guess wanting to be there when the lights went out. But to his surprise, when the servers shut down, he's still around.

And the ingame menus are gone, and all the NPCs are acting with him like real people, instead of, well NPCs. And since he and his guild had become super powerful in the game and had created their own little (well, not so little) fortress, along with unique and powerful followers to "guard" it. They all praise him and kiss his ass and the hot followers want to bang him.

So its basically nerd wish fulfillment. Like, when he goes to explore the world, since he was basically max level, everything is a joke to him. I mean, he tries to "play" cautiously, and in the end, the only real threat ever was one of his followers after they got turned through a mind control mishap, but nothing they encounter in the world is even a threat to any of them.

So again, its kinda amusing to see the opponents think they're hot shit and get all cocky, only for Ainz and his followers to stomp them into nothing. Anyways, even though it is silly nerd wish fulfillment, I like the character designs and animation and the fighting and magic, so I watched the whole series. As I said, we never see anything of the player behind the mask, nor does he seem to care that he's trapped in this world (though to be fair, nobody wage slave vs all powerful undead lich, I guess its not contest), but it would be interesting to see if they explore that. I mean, he's more concerned that other players are also in this world like him, though amusingly he seems to be very cautious, as it seems he presumes they might be hostile.

Honestly, I'm more interested to see him get involved in the world's political situation. It does sound like there several more "light novels" in Japan about this, so there's no shortage of story.

Since I'm done with this, decided to check out One Punch Man as well, since I keep seeing people talk about it and there's only 12 eps so far. Like Overlord, this does seem to be nerd wish fulfillment, since the protagonist is a dude so powerful he can take out world ending threats with one punch, hence his name. But its funny, and it seems to embrace its ridiculousness. Its kinda a parody in that way, since things play out with the typical speechifying common in anime, only for it to be abruptly cut short since these bad guys are no threat, as opposed to the entire episode lasting battles typical of these shows because everyone's explaining their techniques and how they work. So you're always, just punch the guy! And that's what Saitama does!

It is annoying that Hulu only has subtitled versions (I dunno if either of these have dubbed versions), because that means I can't do anything else but watch the screen, lest I miss conversation.
