Dec. 20th, 2015 04:34 pmBack in NYC, the Center of the Universe! Another benefit of flying First Class was apparently I got to go on the Certified Pre-Check line, which I dunno if it was faster, but at least I didn't have to take off my shoes or get my laptop out of my laptop bag.
Anyways, it is sad/ridiculous that I've watched no less than four Christmas rom-coms on Ion TV in the past 24 hours? But there's nothing else on the telly right now!
Did go shopping with the Parentals, hit the Roosevelt Field area. And hey, I guess the Americans really did film around there! So finished up my Christmas shopping, and got everything wrapped. Well, except my godson's bike, because its already assembled, so I can't really wrap it. I guess I can put a bow on it, but its like, gee, I wonder what it is?
I was intending to get a boxed version you had to assemble, but Toys R Us didn't apparently have any left in the box. Like I got the ticket for the bike and took it up to the register, paying for the unassembled version, which was $10 cheaper. Not because I was cheap, but because I figured that would fit easier in the mini-van.
So then I went to pick it up at the customer pickup, and proceeded to wait like 15 minutes. One guy went back there, then a different came back with that same bike, but said, "Oh, this isn't for you, you didn't pay for assembly!" Then another guy came up with the same bike all, "Oh, I was just taking this off the rack!" and when I asked him I was waiting for a boxed one, he was all, "I don't got any of those back there!" Then why didn't you tell someone earlier?! What I am waiting for then?!
Anyways, I go up to one of the customer service ladies and explain the situation. Like if they didn't have any boxed ones, why wouldn't you put that in the bike display? Some sort of note saying only the pre-assembled store models are left. I would've been totally fine paying the extra $10 if that was the case. So the lady let us have one of the pre-assembled versions at no extra charge since we waited so long. While I am grateful, that is definitely the least they could do in this situation!
