Aug. 6th, 2014 12:20 pmSo its the Elite Eight of AfterEllen's 2014 Femslash madness tournament. Now my last post, I was talking about how I was pleased with the choices because they were all (well, mostly) things I actually shipped. Unfortunately, the bad thing about that is now there are match ups where its incredibly hard to choose.
I mean, Skimmons was the only obvious one. Slightly less obvious was the Prentiss/JJ vs Katniss/Johanna. As I said before, I never got that vibe from the former, but I was feeling the latter, so I went with the Hunger Games coupling.
But dang, Rizzles vs Swan Queen and Bechloe vs Myka/HG. That was a struggle I mean, Rizzles already practically seem a couple now (I mean, last night's ep, Victor from Dollhouse seemed more a third wheel than Jane did!), but Swan Queen seems like a more epic story, and they really do seem like Henry's two lesbian moms. So, I went with Swan Queen.
I definitely picked up on the Bechloe vibes in Pitch Perfect, though it seemed more on Chloe's side. Amusingly enough, part of the reason I'm amused by the couple is because of the flirty-ness between Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow (ha, a real life Brittana!) on Twitter, and on there its definitely Anna who seems more into it.
But Myka/HG should've been endgame. I mean, it never would've happened, but it was totally obvious. Like you knew the writers were throwing those shippers a bone by saying HG broke up with dull suburban guy and ended up with some chick. But you can't tell me Myka wasn't into HG. So, I went with them.
HG and Myka are in the lead, as are Skimmons. So if they both do win, they would be facing each other in the final four, which would be amusing since its the two big lesbian-science couplings.
