ME blather- After my last post and realizing the QMI was just the QME with tactical cloak substituted in for incinerate, decided to try him out vs geth. So yeah, he did just fine, so getting resurgence is inevitable. I did notice one little thing that was a little troublesome. Tossing arc grenades doesn't actually break cloak. Which you'd think is a bonus, but it can lead to problems on lower difficulties.

Normally, you don't want to stay in cloak too long- not because you're not gaining shields, but because if you break cloak early, it actually recharges faster than it would if you were cloaked the full period. Indeed, most people use cloak as a quick damage boost. Cloak right before the shot, fire (or toss out a power, then fire since you're still getting the damage bonus for a few seconds after cloak drops), get huge damage. Now, the problem with arc grenades not breaking cloak, is against geth, those are ridiculously powerful, and its got one of the biggest blast radiuses in the game. So, you see a group, toss a grenade, they all die, meaning there's nothing to shoot at to force a cloak break since arc grenades don't break cloak.

I guess one doesn't need to throw grenades willy nilly, but since I'm playing solo, and I know the boards and where all the pickups are, and I have grenade capacity increase equipped, I should never run out of grenades. So I can be pretty liberal with them- like my trump card if I got in trouble with the QME was to just spam a bunch of grenades and run away and get somewhere til my shields recharge. But since the QMI doesn't break cloak, I run away, but my shields don't start to recharge since I'm still cloaked. I guess I just need to remember to manually break cloak.

As for attacking, I guess maybe I should do shoot then toss, rather than toss then shoot.

Oh, I was also thinking about the mattock vs the harrier. The harrier is the full auto version of the mattock. Technically, to balance things out, the mattock is supposed to be more powerful than the harrier, but that's not actually the case. But while the harrier is great, it has a low ammo capacity, and eats through what little ammo it has fast. Still, the mattock is pretty usable. Its capacity is pretty low too, only slightly better than the harrier. But, its single shot, so you don't go through that ammo as fast. And since its only an uncommon compared to the harrier being UR, I actually have it at lvl X, whereas my harrier is only level V.

So while the harrier ends up being more powerful per shot at the same level, since my mattock is maxed, its currently more powerful. Plus, my mod slots are pretty much guaranteed for the harrier- extended magazine and stability damper. Since the mattock is single shot, it doesn't need a stability damper, so I can switch out that with the extended barrel for even more power. I still think the harrier is better all around, but I can at least use the mattock whenever I complete the harrier challenge, because you know how I don't like using weapons that I'm not earning challenge points on.

Which is part of the reason my challenge point total is so high. I've done AR master 7 times now. There's just such a big pool of usable ARs that I can easily switch between any nine needed to complete the mastery each time.
