Saw Pacific Rim today. It was fine, the giant monsters and robots designs were pretty cool, as was the fighting. Idris Elba is his usual bad-ass self, though Jax from SoA and Charlie from IASIP basically feel like "what if Jax rode giant robots instead of motorcycles" and "what if Charlie was a brilliant scientist"?

Heh, that one guy from the Unit who usually plays undercover cops/ex-special forces mercs/assassins is playing an Aussie. So at first I was all, "Wait, was this guy Australian this whole time and I didn't know it?" Because he does have one of those voices that sound like its like an English/Aussie faking an American accent. But he's from NY, so I guess he was just doing an Aussie accent.
