May. 10th, 2013 08:45 amHeh, so my co-worker was asking me what has Natalie Portman in, because he recognized the name but couldn't pick her out. So I'm like: Thor, The Professional, Beautiful Girls, Closer, V for Vendetta. And the student assistant was all, how could you not say Star Wars?! Which, that is kinda amusing that I thought of all those movies before thinking of her as Amidala. Also weird that I did not list Garden State.
ME blather- Another reason I don't have a desire to play MP with other people, which I've mentioned before, is that online players can be so elitist when it come to character construction. Like to them, there's only one way to build this character or that. Like they'll post on the boards, "OMG, how could this n00b spec them this way?!" Its like I understand its a team effort, so obviously you want to play with decent people. But there's a diff between complaining about people who indeed don't know what the eff they're doing and nitpicking that someone doesn't have something done the exact way you would do it, because your way is bv('the best').
There's room for variation, and some people don't care that they're built most efficiently, they just care they're having fun and using the powers and weapons they want. But like I said, some people are playing to win, so again, I guess they can't be faulted for wanting their teammates to perform at their very best. Which is why I don't play with other people- no one to have to answer to.
That being said, these experts do have points. Reading the talk on the boards about the Slayer, I may have to respec him- switch from 3 ranks in Phase Disruptor and 6 in Biotic Slash to 6 in PD and 3 in Biotic Slash instead. I mean, Biotic Slash has such a long wind-up that you'll be out in the open too long using it on guys far away, so you don't need the distance. You should be doing it through cover anyways, where the enemies can't hit you and you can hit them since slash can go through walls, which is hard to line up at long distances anyways. The radius is decent enough already, and while the power combo detonation bonuses are useful, it sounds like PD is a better detonator anyways. The using up barrier to fire can be dangerous, but you have biotic charge to insta-refill your barriers anyways. And unlike Nova, you can spec it to only use 20% of your barrier rather than the 50-100% Nova does. So it doesn't leave you that vulnerable.
