Nov. 12th, 2012 09:50 amAC blather- Saw this video showing almost all of the ways Connor can kill peeps in the game:
Crazy, that's over 5 minutes worth of different kill animations. Which I like, because variety is the spice of life! The double counters are especially awesome. I'm trying to figure out how you do the double counters that involve pistol shots, since when you double counter, it goes straight into the animation after you hit the counter button, it doesn't wait for you to press square or triangle for the normal or special counter, respectively. I'm guessing its dependent on what you're armed with, and what your opponents are armed with. Some do complain that combat in the game is a little too easy, but hey, its nice to feel all bad-ass.
The game isn't without its share of bugs though. The dual pistol one is the only one so far I find slightly annoying- once you have dual holsters, even if you equip them with 2 of the double-shot pistols, whenever you hit a load screen, It will switch one of those out with one of the older pistols, so you only have three shots before having to reload as opposed to four. I did run into the grey screen of death, which is what happens if you accidentally walk over your lantern whilst carrying a powder keg in the underground, but you just have to exit the game completely to fix it. Which I guess is also annoying because I lost some progress. And it looks like a couple of the huntress cutscenes are cut off. ( spoiler cut )
Its too bad your homestead and assassin worlds don't mesh. Like I like the little community you build in the homestead, and the missions do a good job of fostering that sense of community. The only time you really get to find out more about your recruits by going to taverns and talking to them if they're there. I would've like to have seen a level of interaction with them like you do with the homestead folks.
Oh, I guess it does seem like there are something missing storywise. Particularly regarding Connor and his father. ( spoiler cut )
