TV commentary:

Person of Interest- Seriously, I love when Amy Acker plays bad guys, because she manages to be this perfect combination of cute/adorable and scary/crazy. But as [livejournal.com profile] clevemire predicted, the reason they didn't use a stock photo was because it was going to be a flashback actress. spoiler cut )

Glee- So the Glee youtube channel has all of last night's performances up. Here's the depressing ones:

Teenage Dream:

Really sad and emotional, but honestly, how awkward would it be if you were at that karaoke bar? (And is it really karaoke if he's playing the piano himself?) Its like here's some dude on stage breaking down as he serenades his boyfriend. And how uncomfortable is it for Brody? Hanging with the girl he's interested in with her sort-of bf, and her roommate, and his bf, who's on the verge of crying on stage?

Mine:

Excellently performed, but I'm not thrilled with the arrangement on the show. Mostly the way they cut some lines from the bridge, as that was my favorite part of that song.

Barely Breathing:

Again, who the eff is Eli C?! And is that like Finn's favorite shirt or something? That's at least the third ep he's worn it in. (Not that I keep track of everyone's outfits, its because I have a very similar shirt- same color, but the patch on the front is different, and my shirt doesn't have the number in the back)

Don't Speak:

Again, sad performance, but a little nonsensical. Its like, given what Rachel and Blaine admitted, why are the couples still sleeping in the same bed that night?!

The Scientist:

I did like the flashback moments. I'm not sure that's the scene I woulda picked for Finchel, given how the rest of that scene went. I would excuse it if maybe they were going for the first intimate moment between these couples on screen, but the scene for Brittany and Santana wasn't their first moment. Or given how vague they were about those two in the earlier seasons, maybe that was their actual first on-screen moment like that.

Heh, so as intimated in last night's ep, Glee is doing Grease for the school play in an upcoming ep. Ha, the soundtrack is called Glease?

Which is fine with me, as I'm at least more familiar with the music from it than last year's West Side Story and Rocky Horror Picture Show the year before that. Heh, I'm still amused when I expressed shock that [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 hadn't seen Grease, she countered with me having not seen "Sound of Music". Looking at the soundtrack listing, it looks like "Summer Lovin" is on there, but I'm assuming they're not redoing it, and its just the version from last season's Glee's Yes/No ep. Although the song is actually called "Summer Nights", so its weird the track listing would call it "Summer Lovin". Ah, and I did see them doing the motions in the promo, and the listing confirms they are indeed doing the hand jive.

I am curious who's being cast as what. I mean, Ryan Murphy already revealed on Twitter that Marley will be Sandy and Vanessa Lengies posted a pic of herself as Frenchy, even though when they did Summer Nights last year, she actually had Marty's line. And Santana did a perfect Rizzo, but given she graduated, obviously she can't be Rizzo. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

So I saw the video for The Grand Nationals' We Can't Stay Here:

Which is apparently for the film Oranges, which is about Leighton Meester playing a girl who has an affair with her dad's best friend, played by Hugh Laurie. Which I find kinda weird given her story arc on House was being underage and having a crush on House and giving him a calendar counting down the days until she was legal so they could consummate things. But it turned out she had like a brain fungus or something which made her have such ccv('Inappropriate!') feelings towards him. I mean, in the film her character is 24, so its slightly less taboo. But the video does make me think of some "what if?" alternate universe to House where she wasn't sick in the head and she and House did start something.

I'm obviously not a sports fan, but I've seen enough football games on TV to be amused by the East/West College Bowl skit on Key & Peele the other day:

I guess I actually thought this was funny because I always found those football intros kinda weird. And its not just the crazy names, kudos to Key and Peele for managing to do so many different and hilarious intros, because that's what really sells it.
