Saw Brave yesterday with
isabel79 and my godson. I enjoyed it. I do find it ridiculous that people were all "Is Merida Disney's first lesbian princess?" Now, I'm not taking a hetero-normative stance here, but at the same time, I wouldn't say there was anything pointing to her being some sort of lesbian. She just wasn't interested in boys (or girls!) at the time. She was looking for adventure, and she wasn't ready to get married and "settle down" when she was still so young. Not wanting to be forced into a marriage with some random dude she hardly knows and basically become a housewife does not equal lesbian.
Oh, and some people were all, "Ooh, Merida is the first princess without a prince, so now that princesses outnumber the princes!" Although technically, she had three princes, she just wasn't interested in any of them.
Also saw Crazy, Stupid, Love, last night, that movie with Steve Carrell, Emma Stone, and Baby Goose. There was a twist that they surprisingly didn't reveal in the trailers and was an interesting surprise. ( spoiler cut )
