Burn Notice- ( spoiler cut )
After watching Burn Notice, chauffeured
isabel79 and
sparkyboy to various bars. E wanted to hit Electric Piano and get them to play a Keane song. But as expected they were all, "Who?" (Also, the guy has the songs he knew printed up for people to request, and he knows "Your Body is a Wonderland", but not "Benny and the Jets"?!)
So we left there pretty quickly, and hit Vibe, the island's only gay bar for me brudder. The gay bar was actually more fun than the straight one, but only because they played better songs to sing along to. Even though Electric Piano did do "Livin' On a Prayer", which can always guarantee having everyone in the bar singing along. Wait, is it gay to be at a gay bar watching a drag show and loudly singing along to Lady Gaga?
It was actually more hoppin than the last time we went there two years ago. At least this time there were some fag hags (some of whom were cute) this time. Well, I assume most of them were hags, there might've been a couple of lesbos amongst them. But yeah, not that I did anything about it. Anyways, unbeknown to us it was drag queen night. Talk about amateur hour! Though it was surprising to see one of them to perform to Paramore. I mean, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, that's expected. Paramore? Not so much. Well, not that I know what is actually expected. I just assume the former are more popular amongst the more "fabulous" people.
Actually, I'm not being fair, I hardly saw any of the performances, since we were sitting in the back, just bobbing my head along to LMFAO and Montell Jordan. (Hey, "This is How We Do It" is a 90s classic!)
Also kinda sad? The old gay dudes trying to get into the scene. Me brudder says they're guys who realized they were gay later in life (or decided to finally come out of the closet because its become more social acceptable), and I suppose they're just trying to find a connection. But its like, they seemed way out of place trying to interact with the younger crowd and the obviously not for them music.
