But I do like all the machinations going on, and am particularly amused by how many characters insist they know what's what.
The character designs can be off at times though. I mean, Inferno is supposed to be this powerful bad-ass criminal organization, but I think they made the upper members a little too bishi. I mean, Mcguire is supposed to be a Columbian drug lord (named Mcguire?!), but he looks like your typical skinny/frail looking long/blue haired pretty boy animes are so fond of. Same for Isaac. He's supposed to be this hardcore LA gang-banger, but he's drawn like a swarthy gigolo. (I half-expected his voice to sound like a bad Antonio Banderas impression!) They're a little hard to take seriously, honestly, I kinda cracked up when we first saw them because I was like, "What's with all these girly men?". I mean, Mcguire is dressed like a friggin a 17th century pianist! At least Lizzie looks tough and competent. And Claudia has a phenomenal rack that the show is fond of accentuating by having her alternate between cleavage-y business suits and threatening-to-just-fall-open-at-any-moment-bathrobes.
Cal is also weird. I mean, she's apparently supposed to be 16 in the beginning, but looks a flat-chested 12 year old. So it makes her thing with Reiji a little creepy. (particularly with her wanting to dress up in little maid outfits for him as she clean their apartment) Its like, does he think of her as a little sister, or is he in love with her? But its also incredibly hilarious when he sees her again 2 years later and she grew about a foot and now has a rack that could give Claudia a run for her money in a luscious melons contest. I think the animators made young her look a little too young, so when she grew up, its pretty hysterical how much she'd changed.
