TV commentary:

Justified- Ha, the coal company lady was totally trying to bang Raylan, wasn't she? But hey, she's kinda cute. (and weird, I just saw she did full frontal on Hung) spoiler cut )

You know even though I don't watch Grey's Anatomy, the fact that they're doing a musical episode tonight is intriguing. Not intriguing enough to get me to watch the show regularly, but to at least check out the ep (I'm at least passingly familiar with the goings on that show, so I don't think I'd be too lost). I picked up the soundtrack, and its not too bad. It is weird that Vorenus has gone from this Roman centurion bad-ass to singing on a medical drama. But yeah, for some reason I'm not too keen on the actual versions of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" or the Fray's "How To Save A Life" (though I do like other songs by both groups), but I actually like the Grey's covers.

If someone were to check my last musical purchases on amazon and itunes though, I wonder how much of a poofster I'd come off as? The Grey's Anatomy "Musical Event" soundtrack, Jonny Mcgovern's "Soccer Practice", various Elton John songs? And next week won't help as that's when the original broadway cast recording of the "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" musical comes out. Those are all pretty ghey, or done by gay dudes (I mean, "Soccer Practice" is off an album called "Big Gay Hits"!). Sometimes I wonder if I have gayer musical tastes than my brother, and [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy is actually gay!

In any case, freeing up 5 gigs on my ipod by compressing the songs to 128kbps was bad, because I was being more selective with my music purchases since I was getting close to filling it up, but now that I've got room for several hundred more songs, I'm not. Like in addition to the aforementioned, I had picked up the Sucker Punch soundtrack and Adele's "21" this past weekend.

So there's new, extended promo for the next ep of Gossip Girl out. You know, I've been waiting for Dan and Blair to hook up since 1x04, but something tells me I'm going to end up being sorely disappointed. Like its just going to be one big tease, and the whole thing will be swept under the rug by seasons end. It does annoy me that the naysayers are saying the show is just randomly hooking up people because they've run out of ideas. But like I've said, I think them hooking up has been a long time coming. People say they would never, because they're total opposites, but other than the money thing, they're actually quite similar. They're both hopeless romantics with similar tastes, more apt for each other than Chuck or Serena. Plus, Leighton Meester's prettier than Blake Lively, so if I were Dan, the choice would be obvious.

TV commentary:

SVU- Interesting, I wasn't expecting Jeremy Irons' character to come back. Also, since I didn't see any promos for this, Juliet was also a surprise. Of course, that did kinda spoil things, because its like, they're interviewing the dead girl's teachers, and you have a bunch of random nobodies, and then Elizabeth Mitchell. Gee, I wonder which of those people are involved. Still, I think this was one of the better eps of SVU in recent weeks, particularly because Jeremy Irons and Elizabeth Mitchell did such good jobs.

I know some people complained on the forums, what's with these eps having to have some insane random twist. And while the twist in this ep was crazy, I think it actually worked in the context of the show, unlike Rose Mcgowen and Opie ending up being brother and sister last ep, spoiler cut )
