OMG, I am so frickin slow. So I was at Junior's ordering breakfast, and Britney Spears' "Oops.. I Did It Again" came on my MP3 player. And the part where she's talking to the astronaut and he's giving her some piece of jewelry, and Brit's all, "But I thought the old lady threw it in the ocean?" I just now friggin realized that was a Titanic reference, almost 11 years after that song came out.

In my defense, I had not actually seen the Titanic movie until 5 years after that song came out (which in turn came three or four years after the movie first came out). So I had no idea what the "Heart of the Ocean" was, or that that was the necklace the astronaut was giving her in the video. Also, why the hell is some random astronaut giving Britney Spears some fake necklace from some fictionalized version of the Titanic sinking?

Heh, during last night's Glee (which I'll comment on later) because I have a meeting to go to in a few minutes), there was a commercial for this movie "Take Me Home Tonight", starring Topher Grace and Anna Faris. And ha, I totally thought his love interest in it was Kristen Stewart with her hair dyed blond. But no, its the blond chick from the Sorcerer's Apprentice and the upcoming "I Am Number Four" who is not cheerleader Quinn Fabray. In the movie poster, she looks nothing like Kristen Stewart, but watch the trailer and tell me you wouldn't think that was Kristen Stewart at first.

Also, the commercial I saw last night was shorter than the actual trailer, so it did not have them playing Eddie Money's "Take Me Home Tonight" in it. But ha, until they played the song in the trailer, I totally didn't realize the movie title was referencing it. I mean, the movie takes place in the 80s, so why wouldn't they use the song? Also, movies that take place in the 80s are always awesome because the soundtrack is almost always chock full of awesome songs.

Could there be any more meetings this morning? Which kinda sucks given I didn't get much sleep last night. Also what's up with meetings starting way earlier than their scheduled start time? I thought I was 10 minutes early, but apparently not! Oh wait, it turns out that's because I was in the wrong meeting! Why the frak would you post a friggin sign saying "The meeting has been moved to room X" and not say which meeting it is?! I came to the room early to get a good seat, saw the sign, went to the other room and saw a meeting was going on and sat in on it and come to find out that's not the meeting I was supposed to be in! It like ends ten minutes after I get in, so I ask someone, is this not meeting X? Nope! Well, thanks for putting the obscure sign talking about a room change for a meeting when there are other meetings going on in the original room! Though I did learn some interesting things at this meeting I wasn't scheduled for.

Anyways, enough work crap. Actually had the Superbowl shindig at [livejournal.com profile] clevemire's, which was fortuitous since I wouldn't end up missing Glee because of travel time. Had the usual suspects and too much food. Way too many leftovers- a bunch of Jersey Mike's samiches, slow cooked ribs, spicy meatballs, chips and various cheese and bean dips. Though argh, why didn't I grab some of C-note's mac and cheese? Owel, on the one hand, I hate wasting food, but I'm not sure my stomach can survive all that spicy food a few days in a row.

TV commentary:

Glee- I was fine with the ep, despite the implausibilities in the plot. spoiler cut )

So, even though the Glee Superbowl ep was just yesterday, the Valentine's Day thened ep is tomorrow. As such, the songs from the ep are out to listen to (and to buy on itunes at 11pm EST tonight, as per usual)

So here's a breakdown:

Fat Bottomed Girls, Queen- Done by Puck. Pretty awesome, though I may be biased because I always found it to be a really fun song to sing/sing along to.

P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing), Michael Jackson- Done by Artie. This is also awesome, again because its such a great song to do.

So, yeah I've been playing PYT and Fat Bottomed Girls on repeat for the last hour ro so.

Firework, Katy Perry- Done by Rachel. Rach does a good job with this, though this is one of those songs I suspect is a better performance on the show than just as a song. So I'm eagerly awaiting that.

When I Get You Alone, Robin Thicke- by Blaine and the Warblers. Dr Seaver's real life son's song is done fine by Blaine, its just not my cup of tea. (sneak peak of the performance here at Perez.

Silly Love Songs, Paul Mccartney- by Blaine and the Warblers. At first I wasn't sure who this was. I mean, the style is very much the Warblers, but I was surprised they got two songs in this ep. But it is indeed them. Anyways, I really like this one also, I love the harmonies.

Anyways, you can listen to Firework here at People, and the rest at the glee the music site.
