TV Commentary:

SVU- Okay, that was a terrible, yet totally hilarious season finale. spoiler cut )

Even more E3 stuff: (I know, aren't you sick of it?!)

Wet- hot chick with a katana and 2 pistols, this trailer seems to be going for that Grindhouse feel. While it does have a certain appeal, its a little too Tomb Raider meets Max Payne. There doesn't seem to be anything that hasn't been done before.

God of War III- while I guess it does look visually better than the previous games, and Kratos seems to be more bad-ass, there doesn't seem to be anything all that new. Other than him being able to kill in more new and violent ways, that is. But there doesn't seem to be too many new tricks up his sleeve compared to some of the other sequels unveiled.

Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny- But speaking of Kratos, looks like the PSP port of SCIV drops the SW characters (Yoda, Vader, Starkiller), and replaces them with some Moulin Rouge looking dandy, and Kratos! That's a huge surprise. When SCII started with the special character crossovers (Link, Heihachi, Spawn) people kept hoping for other big melee-weapon characters from other video games to show up, like Dante from DMC or Altair from AC or similar characters. But those always seemed like a silly pipe dream. So I'm totally (but pleasantly) surprised at the addition of Kratos. Now if they could only make him available on the home consoles.

Bayonetta- As I've said before, this looks very Devil May Cry, but with a chick. The graphics do seem pretty good though.

Heh, TWoP had an article on 5 kids shows that could actually make watchable movies. So they think "Hey, Dude", "She-Ra", "Magical Schoolbus", "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?", and "Jem" would make for a decent movie. Actually, I think Carmen San Diego could make for a decent family movie. But how many people have actually watched "Hey, Dude"? Or heard of it beyond it being "that show Ben Stiller's wife was on"? (Speaking of old Nick shows, it seems like one way of gauging a person's age is whether they think of Melissa Joan Hart as Clarissa or Sabrina)

But Jem could work as well. While TWoP wanted Leighton Meester as the titular character, I guess because she just released that song with Cobra Starship recently, and she's a decent singer, she seems more fitting for one of the Misfits. Mebbe I only think that because she plays a lot of bitchy characters (Blair Waldorf, Sweet Knees, her character on Surface seemed kinda bitchy) Kristen Bell could work for Jem, and given she's stated she was a big fan and has done musicals previously, I can see her doing it. In any case, I do think its a decent idea. They've already done/are doing the other two big Sunbow 80s cartoons, Transformers and G.I.Joe, so why not Jem. I think it has enough of a fan base to do well, and they can easily make it appeal to the tween set.
