What's the point of having a fast car if you're not gonna go fast? So I was driving into work, and some durned fools were driving way too slow, so it was starting to bunch up. Anyways, a couple of Porsches got on at Paces Ferry, and at that point, traffic was a little too tight for my tastes. So I saw some and openings and weaved through, finally speeding an getting some distance from the soup once I got out of it. I thought the Porsche 911 turbo had the same idea, but they were still in my rear view, as I sped away. I figured they'd let loose and blow me away once they were free of the slow pokes. Because again, what's the point of having an expensive sports car if you're not going to use it?! Now, I'm not saying they should be doing like 90 mph and weaving through traffic like a maniac, but if you can go that fast, there's no reason to get stuck within a group of slow idiots. Its prolly good I don't actually drive a sports car, because half the time I don't realize how fast I've started going until I look at the speedometer and be all, "Maybe I should slow down". But I'm just trying to get around these folks who are talking their sweet FA time. Some people have things to do, they can't have their time wasted on the road!
So there'll be a new Doctor Who next season, with David Tennant being replaced by Matt Smith, and Karen Gillan as the new Companion (some pics of her here) Interesting, she played a minor role in that Pompeii ep, I wonder if her character will be related to that one? I mean, obviously it can't be the same one, because I think everyone in Pompeii died except for that one family the Doctor saved (and then they coined the term Volcano!) But people who were on the show previously, they try to connect them. I mean, Tosh was still Tosh, but with Martha, her first character they were all, "Oh, that was her cousin", and with Gwyneth, they were all "Oh, we met your ancestor" to Gwen. (Yeah, I realize Tosh and Gwen are Torchwood, but its the same continuity.) But, if there going to make nods to them playing previous characters, I'm guessing they'd do that for this new chick?
So apparently, this is the youngest Doctor and Companion pair in the series to date? I don't have a problem with it, but I guess there are some who think they're only making them younger to be hip and edgy.
