So is guest starring in a crime procedural what you have to do before you can make it as a big TV star? It always amuses me when I'll see an ep of such a show like a few years ago, not knowing who a guest star is at the time, then going back and seeing the same ep after the guest star has their own show. Like this ep of Cold Case on right now, I'd seen the ep before so I'm only half paying attention right now, but then I look over and saw the girl playing the daughter looked familiar, and that's cause its Julie Taylor!
Speaking of, what's with people who pick her over Lyla or Tyra? Not that she isn't cute, but she is kinda young looking compared to the other two, so it does seem kinda pervy picking her over the perky brunette cheerleader with her floppy ponytail or the slutty albiet frickin' huge amazonian blonde. What is up with Tyra anyways, she's taller than all the guys on that show, and they're supposed to be football players! What is she, like 6'3"?!
But I digress. It seems like if you do a crime procedural, Cold Case and Without a Trace are your best bets. The CSIs, they're busy showing fancy forensic techniques, and the Law & Orders have to split their time between the Law and the Order. Well, they have to have all the "courtroom drama" with the judges being all "I'm going to allow it!" and "You opened the door, counselor!" But Cold Case and Without a Trace, there's more for the guest stars to do since they don't do the courtroom or forensic stuff. Its all, they interview person A, which cuts to a flashback and also leads them to a clue or person B. But then the clue or person B clue the detectives in that something isn't right, so they have to interview person A again and lambast them for leaving some important detail out and then back to person B, or a person C. So basically, since those shows are all flashbacks and interviews, you get more to do.
