The right time
Dec. 8th, 2004 10:18 amWhat is the "right time" to hit some of the more popular eateries around here? Had dinner with the roomie at Fat Matt's on Monday night, and Nuevo Laredo on Tuesday night, both of which tend to get crowded. Yet, Fat Matt's was about empty when we got in, and we got the last free table at Nuevo Laredo, but there wasn't anyone waiting behind us. Both times, I think we got there between 715-730, and when we left, it was crowded as shit. When do people normally eat dinner? I figured its between 7 and 8. You know, 7 is enough past quitting time that you can go home and change, etc. but not late enough that you'd miss prime time TV, if you cared about that. Or at the very least, you'd be done in time for 9 o'clock plans, or if you're like old, have a couple of hours to do whatever before like turning in at 10. Maybe we just got really lucky and happened to get there right before everyone else. Like, though we left around 745 to 8, the majority of people got there like five to ten minutes after us, which is still in the 7-730 range. Ida know.
Hmm, I think there's a problem with my most recent DVD order. Hopefully I'm wrong, or if there is a problem its a small one. But after this latest one gets here, no more ordering for a while. Lots of other things to drop cash on. Dang, most of the shows are repeat this week. Well, except for Lost and the OC. I guess the OC started late, so there'll be new eps for a while. But this week is the halfway point of the season for Lost. Will that mean there will be no new eps until next year? And just when it started getting egg-citing! Was watching SVU last night. How misleading was the promo? They make it sound like Ice T cowboyed it up and shot some kids and that he has to prove his innocence, but that's not what the ep is about at all! Its like him trying to make up for something he did back when he was a narc! Its not even remotely close. At least in the trailer for Hero, it was misleading, but owv('true from a certain point of view.') Yes, jet li was trying to kill the emperor, and in a way, he did have to fight the empire's three greatest assassins (or is it the three greatest assassins in the empire?) to do so. But that's not how it goes down. And I can't see why they need to mislead in the commercials for that SVU ep anyways, its not like the plot they made it sound like they were having was any more interesting than the actual plot. I mean, usually when they mislead, they do it to make people think such and such couple will break up, or X will get seriously hurt or die. But there was no such thing! Okay, I guess they made it sound like Ice T would get fired or be up for murder, which I suppose is up there with "break up" and "death/injury", especially for a show that's all about a particular job.
