Dang, people are out, so I'm out here alone. And double dang, there's a meeting at 1500. I hate having to stay late. Though I guess the 0700 meetings are worse for night shift since they have to stay late after having to work all night. Started reading Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. I'm hoping to finish it by tomorrow since [livejournal.com profile] phatjoe wanted to borrow it to read on the plane, but I doubt I can finish it by then. I mean, I'm a pretty fast reader, if I buckle down and tried, I could easily finish it up by tonight, but too many things keep coming up.

L just came over to borrow a couple of thingies. I wonder if we're allowed to lend those. I'm sure we are, but maybe not. But call me a sucker for a pretty girl. And the alarm guy reminds me of Vegetable Lasagna on Seinfeld.

Anyways, watched "100 Greatest Love Songs" on CMT the other day. Are "El Paso" and "Ring of Fire" considered love songs? I suppose technically they are about love, I guess they just don't fit that sound of love song I have in my head. I mean, I can't imagine hearing them play it on the country stations late at night when they're playing the softer stuff to compete with Delilah and "Atlanta's Love Songs on B98.5" I dunno, the old stuff they had on the countdown just didn't have as pleasing a sound to it. Or maybe its because my musical tastes suck. I mean, where's George Strait's "Check Yes or No"? I remember first hearing that in Chem E girl's room back in college and thinking what a sweet and poignant song it was. (Ha!) And what about Alabama's version of "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time on You"? I guess they don't count things that didn't start out in country, so they didn't have the country versions of "Don't Wanna Close My Eyes" and "Back at One" (which I don't particularly like, but it was really popular) either. But they did have "How Do I Live" in the top 20, I woulda really taken issue with the list if that wasn't on there.

They also had Kenny Roger's "Lady" on it, though "She Believes in Me" ranked higher. And that's another thing, I think there were a couple more things by him, and the Dixie Chicks, and Shania that coulda been on the countdown besides what they had.

Owel, I better cut off now, things have been going haywire this morning and there's not enough of me to handle all the phone calls that have been coming in.
