Not feeling as crappy as I thought I was gonna be this morning. Was all hot and sweaty and itchy last night, compounded with the fact that the neighbors were having a loud party. Though I prolly coulda slept through the partying (which was still going on strong at like 4am) it was prolly the sweating and itchiness that was keeping me up. Though I wasn't totally wide awake, I think for some of that I was in a kind of delirious, semi-sleep state.

Hmm, the latest Harry Potter movie comes out this weekend. Alas, don't think I'll be able to see it over the weekend with work and all. I do have Monday and Tuesday off though, so maybe I'll catch it then. And next week is Riddick. I'm looking forward to that, it looks pretty awesome. The sci-fi channel was showing a clip from the movie during their "Making Of" special. As a reviewer said, that particular part had a Dune kinda feel to it, though it looked way better than the original Dune or the Sci-Fi channel mini-series. Say what you will about his acting, but I think Vin Diesel is kinda cool, if only because he's a video game/roleplaying geek who managed to become an action star. I mean, if you watch his interviews, he's actually kinda dorky. I can't remember which late night talk show he was on where he was babbling about this Drow wizard PC or something he used to play. But anyways. he's living the dream, several block-buster movies and a hot new X-box game that has seemingly broken the rule that "movie-licensed games must suck".

And why is it so damn cold in here?

With everything on repeats now, caught an ep of JoA last night. Pretty cool show, which I prolly woulda watched if it weren't on Friday nights. Maybe I'll try catching it next season. So, since I don't think I'd be able to catch all the eps in reruns (unless they're doing the quick release to DVD that Alias and 24 did and the OC is about to do) started reading the recaps on TWoP. Oh, and while trying to track down online some song that played at the end of the ep I saw, I came across an article where someone was asking "what's the theme song?" which is of course, "One of Us" by Joan Osborne. Its like, what rock are these people living under?! ojv('Man, its obvious!')

Anyways, one of the recaps mentioned how some people are just overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the mall. I never thought about it before, but I guess I can see how it can bother some people, all the people, the bright lights, the constant somewhat loud noise always in the background. I mean, I know several people who just don't like being so out and about with all these people around. Well, I get that they can feel that way, though its still such a foreign concept to me. Maybe its because I grew up in NYC, but I like the crowds and something always going on. And I guess that's the reason I love the mall, for the exact reason other people hate it.

And even though I'm not the most outgoing guy in the world and can be quite lazy sometimes, leading me to stay in, it comforts me that there is bustling going on outside when I am in. I mean I get some of my fix by having the lights on, and the TV and radio and computer going. But even in the suburbs, like staying the weekend at [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish when we were kids, or hanging out at [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out's place on break, it would drive me a little crazy that it was so dark and quiet outside at night. For me, something has to be constantly going on. Which is why, to many people's annoyance, if it gets too quiet I start making funny noises, or if I'm by myself start outright singing or talking aloud to myself. I think being put in a sensory deprivation tank would really freak me out.

But enough of that. When is the other guy gonna come back so I can heat up my pepperoni, sausage and black olive calzone? I'm starving! Which actually brings me to another rant. what's up with non-delivery only places not selling pizza by the slice? What if there's just two of you and you can't finish a whole pie by yourself? Or what if you just can't agree on toppings. Again, maybe its a NY thing and being used to big slices, whereas other places will do differing diameter pies so a small one could be easily eaten and finished by two people. But I say: "Gimmie pizza slices!" I mean, the guy is all, "We stop making it at X o'clock because we don't want to throw the leftovers away." Stuff it in a fridge! I'm glad they're trying to be all fresh, but day old pizza isn't bad. Actually, its just as tasty as fresh pizza!
