Owel, just your typical weekend for me. Went to [livejournal.com profile] zarathustra94 and [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler's for some DA:V fun. [livejournal.com profile] sstrickl even got to participate this time. There ended up being no combat whatsoever, but there was judicious use of dominate.

After all that was said in done, C-Note and I got back in time for the big game. Since I ran into errors trying to burn CDs for [livejournal.com profile] psyeched_out I decided to join the tournament. Didn't do that great, went out fifth out of ten. I was low on chips and had foolishly went all in against [livejournal.com profile] phatjoe with 2-5 suited even though he clearly had a pocket pair. I thought, this is gonna lose, but it would be funny if I managed a straight flush. I was playing foolishly all night though. At one point I had Q-A and the flop was something, queen, something. For some reason, I thought I had queen-eight instead. I thought, I have top pair, it doesn't look like anyone could draw to a straight of flush, and it didn't sound like anyone else had anything. So the turn is an ace, and the river is another ace. Everyone kept checking, so I thought, maybe my Q-8 isn't so bad. Then at the end Rob bets into me. So I think to myself, what are the chance he has the ace? Then I look back at my cards and realize, "Wait, I have the ace!" So I shout, "What am I, an idiot?" and just call him instead of trying to raise. Though it sounded like he was gonna fold if I raised him anyways, even before I basically gave away that I had the nuts.

Sunday, tried out the West Egg Cafe for brunch. Not too bad, had the Blue Plate Special- scrambled eggs, potatoes, a biscuit with turkey sausage. The waitress gave me a strange look when I also asked for a side of bacon. The cashier gave me a hug because I had my "Have you hugged my T-shirt today" t-shirt on, which marks the first time anyone has actually ever done that. After that had italian ice at J-Ripple. I love rainbow italian ice. And hey, there are quite a number of cuties working there. Later that day, went to church, Krug heated up the leftover samiches for dinner and just watched Sunday night TV.

Monday, had my month check-up. The eye seems to be working fine, and the doc gave me a prescription for new glasses. They're bifocals! In any case, I'm just happy I can read books and things now. I celebrated by reading a bunch of books and things. Ended the day by going to the airport to pick up S+S.
