Escape from New York
Dec. 26th, 2003 06:34 pmWent to the MET with
psyched_out and his little lady today. I confirmed I had been there before. With Charisse way back in '93. Got there around 10 and literally spent the whole day there. I went home a little after 5pm, and they're gonna stay there 'til it closes.
It was pretty cool. And surprisingly, a lot of hotties there too. We started off with the El Greco exhibit. Things I learned at the MET: Renoir's daughters might have been mad cute, Modern Art and Pollock kept reminding me of dessert, and after looking at some of his works, I think that Balthus guy, besides betraying humans to the Cylons, might have had a penchant for underage girls. All in all, it was fun. An uncouth guy like me needs a little culture. The last thing I saw before taking my leave from S+S was their Arms and Armor exhibit. They did have a great collection of rapier and flintlock weaponry. Very purty. And all the artistic beauty wasn't just in the museum. As we took a break at the cafe there, the sky was all sorts of pretty colors as the sun set. A nice palette of pinks, purples, and blues. However, there was this mad cute red head at the table next to us, and after making those observations about the sky with S+S, I told her while the sky was a pretty blue, it didn't compare to the color of her eyes. Okay, not really.
Anyways, I hadn't really gone out that last few times I was here in NYC, and walking around and riding the rails reminded me that the city actually can be a fun place. But boy are my feet killing me.
