So what time is school normally supposed to start? Back in New York City, both elementary and high school started at 830. But nowadays, when I leave for work at 645 in the morning, I see the kids waiting for the bus! Granted, when I was in high school, I did leave for school around 630. Even though it was about a ten minute drive, it was way longer using public transportation. I had a ten minute walk from my house to the 30th Ave train station, whereupon I got on the N, transferred to the 7 at Queensboro plaza, and rode that all the way to the end to Main St. Flushing. After that, it was a 20 minute bus ride on the Q26 from there to school. It was a pain having an hour and a half commute, but it was better than going to the local high school. I mean, their valedictorian's average for the year I graduated was an 84, and one of the star basketball players got stabbed to death during a riot during one of the games.

But I digress. I was thinking maybe these kids just go to school far away, but I asked around, and people said school does start earlier here. But they get off early too. I don't know, maybe because I'm acclimated to the 830 to 235 schedule, but I can't fathom getting to school that early. And even the weekday afternoon cartoons are geared towards that schedule. That stuff starts at 3! Thus, corporate America must think that's what the schedule should be.

The temp difference between in here and outside is ridiculous! Although it didn't cause my glasses to fog up like it sometimes does. I just had to go outside and check on the generator. Its actually pretty warm outside right now. Not that I could tell from in here. Of course, there's no windows in here either, so I couldn't tell you if it was sunny or a torrential downpour or if the sky turned pitch black and it started raining down fire and blood. That's probably why it messes with your sleep patterns, you can't tell what the hell's going on outside. I mean, sure there are clocks around, but those are really just an arbitrary set of numbers. We still really tell time by the sun and moon. And when you have no real gauge of whether its night or day, it really screws with your biological processes.
