That diet coke commercial where the guy is talking about his wife's panties while Mazzy Star's "Fade into You" plays in the background has nothing to do with Diet Coke. You see, I could understand if it was a Tide or Bounce or Downey commercial, because the commercial seems like its advertising a laundry product. But its not, its advertising Diet Coke! Its like that magazine ad where the nekkid chick is sitting on top of the washer (heh!) in some laundry room. That's not an ad about laundry stuffs either! Its a freaking sneaker ad! And its not like she's nekkid except for the sneakers, or she's washing the sneakers in the machine! The sneakers are nowhere to be found! cliffv('What's up with that?!')

strange dreams
Aug. 30th, 2001 04:25 pmWow, I'm actually in front of a computer only a short time after I woke up, so I can actually transcribe my dream. Anyways, I changed the names around so as to hide their identities. I've already come up with names for most of the people I know already if I ever make a movie/book based on my life. And its weird that two of the names for the girls are Emily and Rachel. I came up with those names for different reasons and I only just now realized they were names of two of Ross' ex-wives on Friends. Now thats a weird coinky-dink. Anyways, here's the dream:
So I'm leaving work, and Jen pulls up in front of me in a convertible. She gestures with her finger for me to get in. So I do, and since I didn't know she had a car, I ask her about it, and then we talk about what's the what and catch up. We hang out and grab a bite to eat and then she drops me off in front of Center Street.
As I'm heading in, I see Emily in the parking lot. I greet her and ask her what's been going on and she's glad to see me. We chat it up and she asks me if I'm going to the reunion. I tell her yes. Anyways, it gets kind a fuzzy at this point, I remember something having to do with a cab and some blonde girl, but I just can't remember.
Anyways, I'm in front of the Rich building, and a bunch of my high school classmates are there. We're all decked out in prom wear. I see Emily and she runs up and hugs me. She's talking about how excited she is and I'm just glad to be there with her. Anyways, after we take a group picture, we head over to this party. And as we're going there, she
turns into Rachel. Of course, my dream self doesn't find anything odd with the switch so he's acting normal. The path to the party involves going through some dangerous looking streets and Rachel tries to get us to take a path through this dark alley, but her friends and I manage to dissuade her from that course of action.
So we're at the party, and I'm having a great time with Rachel. I suddenly start thinking about Emily and wanting to head back the way we came because I wanted to get her number and ask her if we can go out again. I apologize to Rachel and leave. The course back involves dodging a bunch of tribesmen gathered about a fire and going through the
sewers and coming up in the middle of the street and almost getting hit by a Porsche.
Anyways, I end up at this fancy restaurant, and it looks like they're cleaning up after a big party. I head down a set of stairs towards a dance hall, in the hopes of finding emily or someone who know's how to get in contact with her. I head through the hall doors and end up in a living room, where Rachel is sitting with her sister.
She gets mad at me for leaving her for Emily and tells me about how she's always been there for me but now she won't be there for me anymore. I apologize profusely and rest my head on her shoulder, asking for her forgiveness. As I rest my head there, she asks, "what, you're not going to put you arm around me?" So I do, and I pull her close. I kiss he neck, and she asks me, "Aren't you going to kiss me on the lips?" So I do and we start kissing passionately and I pull her off the couch onto the floor and we start making out. Anyways, during all this, I start thinking about Emily. Its like, even though I was making out with Rachel, I was still wondering if I could find Emily and set up a date and then I started thinking about what Rachel would think and I start getting confused and thinking who do I choose? They're both extremely hot, with Emily being the perky cheerleader type and Rachel being down to earth. It was all weird and I was all "What do I do?!" then I woke up.
