Supergirl- Some answers to some long burning questions this season. So turns out, everything that's happened this season is one long master plan by Lex. We see how he meets Eve, she's a fan waiting for Lex after he's sentenced (and he manages to kill the judge, prosecutors, and jury DURING the actual hearing!) He recognizes her potential, and has Otis bring her into the fold.
You know, I actually like evil Eve. It makes more sense. Her being this genius who was working as Cat's secretary as a plant explains things. But wait, was she just sleeping with Mon El for shits and giggles? Also, I didn't pick it up and the time, but I guess her lecturing Rara/Linda at the elevator means she totally knows Kara is Supergirl!
But I almost forgot Otis and his sister were the ones who recruited Agent Liberty, so yeah, he's just a big pawn in all this. Which is good, because he and the Sons of Liberty suck. I'm glad they're not the big bads.
Anyways, yeah, the Kaznians apparently are good friends with Lex and told him about Rara (the nickname the fans are calling her, that or Linda Lee, the fake name she introduced herself as when she was incognito with Lex), and since Lex basically has free reign (prison is a formality, he's basically not even really incarcerated!) he goes to see her.
And unfortunately, the only memory she has is the name Alex, but she doesn't know its her sister. So instead, she imprints on Lex, who is also an Alex technically.
And so we see the story of Lex and Rara over the course of the season. Eve figures out Rara was prolly created when Kara came into contact with the Black Kryptonite. And so when Rara starts to go into health failure (that nosebleed we saw earlier in the season), Lex cooks up a plan. Hilariously enough, Eve says she has a plan, and Lex is "you're right, I should give myself cancer!" And Eve's like what the what, she was just going to tell him he needs to work with Lena to perfect the black kryptonite. But Lena would never work with him unless it was to save his life.
And now we're caught up. Lex has powers now, and the gang is still unaware of Russian Supergirl or Eve being a traitor!
Walking Dead- So we're finally up to that infamous scene! They did switch it up. Instead of Ezekiel and Rosita being the big deaths, its Enid, Tara, and Henry.
Tara isn't as big as a surprise, since it seems like they haven't know what to do with her for years. Plus, if not Ezekiel, they needed another community leader, and her dying starts up a whole "the hilltop leadership position is cursed" thing.
Enid is shocking, like I figured if anyone in her relationship was dying, it was Alden. Because its like, who is he. He's just some rando Savior who seemed nicer than the others, and has only been around for a season and a half. But I guess that's precisely why its him, because people would feel sad for Enid if he died, but ultimately it would be whatever.
Henry is also shocking, because he seemed like the new Carl. Guess not! But man, Alpha is EVIL for doing that. She like lets her daughter go, but then kills the main reason she wanted to stay? And poor Carol, her children keep dying!
But yeah, the other decapitated folks are a couple of the Highwaymen and ex-Savior DJ (who actually happened upon the capture of the others and tried to rescue them), Tammy Rose (the only one who died in the comics who also died here), Negan's ex-wife Frankie, and two of those jerk kids, Rodney and Addy (well, to be fair, she wasn't as jerky as the rest of them). Surprisingly, all of Magna's group survived.
Its a little annoying to see people being all, "look at TWD killing off the gays!" because yes, the bury your gay trope is a thing we need to stop. When shows kill their only gay character, definitely complain. But Tara was one of NINE people killed, the only non-straight out of all of them (presumably). At the same time, people shouldn't be invincible just because they belong to a certain group. There's a nuance to it. Let me make it clear, I'm not saying, "oh, there's a bunch of other gays around, so its fine to kill one of them!" Just that the reason for her death should have nothing to do with her preference/religion/race. First decide why you're killing this character, if its for a good reason, then take into consideration if its going to be problematic.
But I digress. I guess the way Siddiq described it is not at all how I imagined it going down. The comics just showed the aftermath, and I just figured they were ambushed at the carnival, like quickly knifed in a back alley. They didn't know what hit them. But seeing them being tied up and captured, then Ozzy, Alek, and JD rush in trying to turn things around, and the people teaming up and fighting for each other, sure there's a nobility to it. But somehow its just more depressing to me that despite all that, they lost to overwhelming odds and got their heads put on pikes.
Like I said, I dunno why I preferred that they went quick without knowing, but I do.
