Supergirl- Ha, what a jerk! So after the big climax and everything being hunky dory, Alex tries to quit the DEO to try and see if she can do this mom thing. But MM is all, "sorry, too bad, I'm quitting first, you're in charge now!" HA!!!!
But shockingly, Sam survives the end of the season. I mean, she didn't initially. People were all, if it comes to it, we should kill Reign if we have no other option. Kara is all, never, I'm not a killer. And then they fight Reign, and it seems like that's the only option. Sam stabs Reign, but in her death throes, she basically just kills everyone but Kara with eye blasts- her mom, Sam, Mon-El. Even MM is hit bad.
So she just tells Alex and Wynn, find me a disruption so I can go back in time and fix this. So she does, and stops Sam from stabbing Reign, and instead does a thing which seems to make Reign go away for good. And unlike Flash, where going back in time to make changes like this is a big deal, its not here.
Not that there aren't adverse consequences. So Reign goes away, but the ep ends with a Kara looking girl appears in Russia, seemingly out of sorts. Wait, are they doing Red Son, but with Kara?
But yeah, its a surprisingly happy/bittersweet ending otherwise. Sam survives, and there's not a trace of Kryptonian DNA left in her, so she's fine. Brainy has to stay in the present, because stopping the plague made a bad guy survive who made a virus that instead kills all AIs. But, he thinks Wynn should go to the future in his place, because even though he thought his invention sucked, its considered a revered artifact in the future.
Also, Mon-El needs to also go to the future to be a leader. Which lines up with the cast changes, Braniac as a regular, Wynn as recurring, and Mon-El out totally.
As I said, MM has quit the DEO to see the world, leaving Alex in his place to see if she can juggle being a leader and a possible single mother. James outs himself as Guardian.
And Alura goes back to Argo, Lena having figured out how to make more of that special rock they need to keep Argo going. Only, she secretly kept some for herself, and she and Teschmacher are studying it.
