TV commentary:
Killing Eve- Confusing! So it seems Konstantin tricked V into the prison on the 12's orders. And someone tried to have her killed in prison. But then someone also broke her out of prison, but both of those also seemed like the 12. I mean, it is a group, maybe they're not as unified as they should be?
Because whoever broke her out wanted her to kill Konstantin. I'm amused the new handler was kinda an asshole to Villanelle, then handed her a loaded gun. Like dude, were you trying to kill yourself?!
We also see Eve and Kenny find out his mom secretly me with Villanelle? Is she one of the 12, as some people have been suspecting? But then why would she give Eve and anti-V task force? Again, maybe this is all maneuvering by individual members of the 12, with folks like Konstantin, Eve, and V as pawns?
We also finally meet this Anna chick. Who is incredibly suspicious! The way she tells it, she was just some poor innocent language teacher who Oksana got obsessed with and whose husband she murdered. But, she's just a little too interested in hearing about what V is doing now. Plus, she claims to have thought Villanelle/Oksana was dead, but then why does he secretly have a bunch of cash along with a fake passport for V, that Eve finds?
Westworld- Also confusing! So I'm suspicious that the hosts Dolores chose transferred themselves to hosts that look like humans so they could escape. I mean, they talk about a third of the hosts having "virgin brains", which given what Dolores had the tech do to Teddy, makes one think maybe they were reformatted or something, but I think they just had "new brains" inserted into their bodies so Delos would think they were dead.
But heh, Shogun world was amusing, what with Akane, Musashi, and Hanaryo being the Japanese equivalent of Maeve, Hector, and Armistice. Sizemore admits that trying to write so many stories is a lot of work, so he cribbed some storyines across the different parks.
Interesting though, Maeve can apparently mind control other hosts now?
Into the Badlands- Interesting, this show really has gotten better once they delved into mysticism and stuff. Hey, Baiji finally learns his radio message was answered. Though he also learned that it was answered by Pilgrim, who's plans involve "cleansing" the badlands.
Also, we find out Sunny does have the gift! He's something called the Catalyst, but his power was locked away a long time ago by someone really powerful.
And so the witch (who apparently Baiji is familiar with and apparently started him on his spiritual journey before he gave up and became a total cynic) thinks Sunny's destiny lies with Pilgrim.
Which speaking of, MK wakes up and Pilgrim sees MK can activate his gift without cutting himself, while MK learns Pilgrim also has special abilities allowing him to turn off his gift. Castor is incredibly jealous of MK, particularly with how close he's getting to Nix. Also, given Castor is dying, Cressida wants Pilgrim to drop him like a sack of potatoes and replace him with MK (so Castor is right to be worried!)
Lucky for Castor, Pilgrim doesn't want to just abandon him like that. Unlucky for him, he ends up getting captured by the Widow when he's tasked with helping Chau get a bunch of workers for a special task as punishment for trying to kill Pilgrim.
But yeah, Cressida has a vision of clipper tattoos, and senses they have to do with the Catalyst, and how he's coming to them. MK says that that's who killed his mom, so good, he can finally have his revenge. But to his shock and disappointment, Pilgrim says he will do no such thing! He and the Catalyst's destinies are intertwined, and Pilgrim needs him for his task.
Also, I realize Sunny heading back to seek out Pilgrim is bad news for Moon. Nathaniel admits to the Widow that he let Sunny go, because Sunny just wants to live his life taking care of his son, he cares nothing of revenge. So she's all, he better! But now Sunny is heading back to the Badlands and possibly joining the Pilgrim (or maybe fighting him)
And the Widow just made an enemy of Pilgrim despite the events of last week. Turns out she and Gaius have a history. They used to crush on each other when they were kids, when circrumstances tore them apart. She doesn't remember him at first, but he points out he's always had a crush on her, and helped her escape his father at personal cost to himself.
When the Widow hears Chau's men are hitting Tilda's camp for workers, she heads there immediately to save her. So are they back to being friends? It was also cool to see Odessa, Moon, and Gaius kicking ass and giving each other knowing nods.
