TV commentary:

Arrow- Whirlwind ep! So the trial is pretty crazy, with perjury galore! So when Digg goes up, the prosecutor brings up all his "bad luck" of being captured by guys like Darhk, all the injuries, which seems suspicious. She questions Dinah about killing the drug dealer who killed Vigilante (the first time!), so she has no choice to plead the Fifth.

Rene is all set to help Ollie, but freaking Diaz shows up with Zoey to menace Rene into fingering Ollie. Zoey says later he had shown up at school with a cop having been told her dad was injured, so she had no idea she was being picked up by a bad guy. Ollie knows he had no choice, and even gives Rene permission to say what he needed to save Zoey.

Lucky for them Digg had rescued Christopher Chance at he beginning of the ep. So while Ollie himself on the stand, saying he knows who the Green Arrow is, but not willing to reveal it to protect his identity (which interestingly enough, he also say Roy admitted being the Arrow to save this seem mystery man), Green Arrow bursts through the courtroom skylight to testify he is... Tommy Merlyn! He had faked his death after Malcolm's undertaking because of the increased scrutiny on his family.

So the judge orders him arrested, but Digg and Rene break him out, and its revealed that Tommy is Chance. Seems open and shut, Ollie is vindicated, right? Too bad Laurel was on camera earlier while Quentin was being interviewed saying she knows who the Arrow is, and will testify to such if subpoenaed. Diaz wanted her to say Ollie was the Arrow then and there, but she claims she didn't know what he wanted.

And so she's called as a witness, and supposedly she has Chance's CIA file from back when Cayden James was bugging the Bunker. She goes to the stand and says the Arrow is.. Tommy Merlyn! Needless to say, Diaz is pissed. So, open and shut again, right? Nope!

Because they know Diaz had the judge under his influence, and suspected he had the jury too. So yeah, the jury declares Oliver guilty. Only, Diaz had an idea during deliberation. They roll the judge and have Chance take his place. So Oliver's lawyer calls for a judge verdict. The judge is all, "That's only called for if it seems there's a decision no reasonable jury would come to!" and since no one knows he was replaced (including the audience at the time) it comes as a complete surprise when the judge is all, "That seems to be the case here! I declare you innocent, you're free to go!"

Which, I'm glad it got Ollie off, because between this season of Flash and last season's Criminal Minds, I was tired of the hero going to jail thing. But that seems bad for the judge, like, weren't they worried Diaz would kill the guy even though he didn't betray him? They don't know what Diaz had on the judge! But alas, the poor judge (or maybe he was corrupt scum, we don't know!) was executed by Diaz.

Anyways, Oliver goes over to thank Rene for his brilliant plan and apologizes and they make amends.

At the docks, after Diaz executed the judge, Laurel shows up. She stood up to him in the court after a pep talk from her sorta Dad and since there's no where she can hide, she decides to try and kill Diaz. She's almost successful. Too bad he had a sound dampener in his pocket, so she is unable to finish him off. Some people complained why she didn't just use the gun in her hand, but she thought she had him dead to rights, she was going to do her ear scream thing to make him suffer.

But yeah, she's caught, and that scumbag is all set to kill Oliver and "anyone he cares about". Man, if they fridge anyone next week, I'll be annoyed. Can this guy just die already? He sucks, he's unworthy of being as powerful as he is.
