Rise- Heh, I'm conflicted! On the one hand, Lou is insufferable. Like he continues to refuse to take advice from people who know stuff, like Tracey. She said, don't try to do the whole tech rehearsals all at once. But nope, he was all, let's do the whole thing, and gets incredibly disheartened when things don't go well. And then he's a total baby about it all ready to quit.
And again, Tracey tells him to man up, its not about him! He may feel like a failure, but the show must go on, there's still a couple of dozen other people in the production busting their ass to get it right, and he can't quit on them now. But he leaves anyways, so Tracey goes on without him and coaxes a great performance out of the kids, and Mazzu shows up in the middle of this and is all moved. One would hope he learned his lesson and sees now maybe he should take notes from Tracey, but I doubt it.
But yeah, I want to see the play succeed not just for the kids, but because the Principal is being a huge douche about everything. All, "haven't sold any tickets yet, eh? When we did Pirates of Pensance, we had two sold out shows and had to open another one!" Whatever, you old fogey!
Anyways, I really would like to see more about the kids than that dumb crap though. Like we're only now finding out Michael and Sasha used to be friends. Apparently Michael ghosted her when he was trying to figure out the whole trans thing, so she felt abandoned. But its weird because why is it only becoming an issue this many episodes in. Like now suddenly she can't be around him? What about all those other weeks of rehearsals previously?!
And ha, Gwen thinks she's being too hard on her dad lately, so she goes to take him a pizza... and finds him letting Vanessa into his room for some screwing around. Not that she lets them know she saw. And Vanessa herself totally lies to Lilette about things too. All, "Oh, I totally didn't spend the night somewhere else, I woke up early to get you your favorite breakfast!" That'll end well! Like Gwen goes all rebellious, piercing her nose, and then totally sleeping with Gordy.
Speaking of Gordy, he does well in his group therapy. Or so everyone thinks. Like sure, he's popular and seems like he's really learning. But as the counselor tells his parents later, he feels Gordy is just telling everyone what they want to hear. People don't all of a sudden get better like that, its a constant struggle, that starts with one admitting they have a problem. And he hasn't opened up yet.
He's prolly going to be tested soon. I mean, there's Gwen's newfound rebellious streak, and now there's about to be Masshous drama. And they don't even know about it yet! So his mom is out of jail, and wants to see him. But you can tell he's precarious about it, sounds like things were bad when she was taking care of him. Plus, he'd have to transfer schools.
But yeah, he accidentally breaks the dryer trying to clean his sneakers, and freaks out and tries to fix it himself. Only he gets caught by Gail, so he confesses and she's upset at him for lying. So of course he's all ready to move out and leave, saying he can stay at Michael's. And so Gail has to reassure him, she was upset at him, but not, "get the hell out of here!" upset. He'll always have a place in their house. Thus there will prolly be custody drama in the near future.
Simon is being a shit, continuing to lead Annabelle on, and then telling Jeremy their kiss meant nothing all, "the stuff on stage is just acting!" Which Jeremy gets pissed at and tells Simon not to touch him during their scenes then. By the end, Simon starts to seem to be coming to terms with his sexuality, but does so in the middle of sex with Annabelle. So he's all, he can't do this, and could you have picked a better time to do this? Way to make her feel like shit, asshole!
The 100- Hey, I never thought about it like that. In the first season, the kids sent down were delinquents, prisoners who the space station thought were expendable. Now, is the ship that appeared all prisoners? Or did they just send the prisoners down first to test the waters as it were, like with the delinquents?
But yikes, Clarke has preemptively declared war on them. Well, technically, they started it by grabbing Madi. But Clarke killed the guy who was going to kill Madi, but then also the guy Madi said tried to help her. So heh, I guess to this new group, she's the scary, mysterious Grounder?
Its interesting to see how Clarke met Madi. So Clarke tries to go to the bunker, but unfortunately the Death Wave levelled Polis, so the hatch is buried under a ton of rubble she can't get to. So she wanders around, eventually ready to kill herself, but then she finds a patch of pristine valley (which we find out the kids in the station above have dubbed "Eden", as its the only patch of green left on a destroyed planet)
She meets Madi, who interestingly enough is scared of Clarke because she thinks she's a Flamekeeper at first, there to take her to a conclave. And then when she sees Clarke is a nightblood, she prolly worries Clarke is there to kill her. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for another ep to see how they got over their initial hostility and became like surrogate mother/daughter.
But yeah, so you have her having to deal with these new folks. Up on the station, the kids saw the dropship go down, and they try to contact the ship, to no avail. So they're all ready to try and dock with the bigger ship in orbit to get answers and hopefully get a ride down. Monty is worried though, it'll take all their fuel to get to that ship, and they don't even know if they'll be let in. So they could be signing their own death warrants. But Harper tells him he needs to have faith, plus this is prolly their last, best chance to get down there.
Oh, we also find out in the intervening years, Murphy and Emori broke up, and Bellamy and Echo got together. He also thinks Clarke is dead, which is sure to put a damper on their relationship when he discovers she's alive.
In the bunker, its unknown whether they know the hatch is blocked by rubble. Not sure if they're only hope is for Clarke or the others to somehow clear it. But yeah, Octavia is sitting on a throne, in Grounder facepaint, watching a deathmatch. Sounds like things have gotten crazy down there.
Speaking of, Madi's never met Octavia, but from the stories she thinks the "Skairipa" is amazing!
