Black Lightning- Plot twist! Anissa, working on Gambi's intel, looks into an ASA warehouse, and finds a bunch of kids in storage chambers, possibly the kids who disappeared back when Jefferson was a kid. But it could also be kids being grabbed now, as Jefferson's childhood friend and street hustler Two-Bit notices some armed agents grab one of Jefferson's students who's buying green light late at night and looks like she's developing powers.
She has the sense to go back and check with her dad rather than to start punching pods and trying to free kids without having a plan. I mean, it does give the ASA time to move the pods and then try to ambush the Pierces when they come back, but Anissa and Jefferson make for a pretty good team and make short work of their attackers.
But yeah, because Black Lightning shows up at the place, Proctor is suspicious of Gambi and realizes he's been working with Black Lightning.
So the ASA capture Gambi (well, show up at his place of business and threaten to kill randos on the street if he doesn't come with him) and work him over pretty bad to reveal who Black Lightning is. Gambi doesn't give Jeff up, but hilariously, Proctor is all, "Hmm, you were really close with that Jefferson Pierce!" Lest you think, "Oh no, he's figured out Jeff is Black Lightning!", nope, he tells his men to grab Jefferson to threaten him to get Gambi to reveal he's Black Lightning.
So two random ASA agents taken Jefferson from the school at gunpoint and take him to where Gambi is, but Jefferson uses his powers to shut the lights off so Gambi can get the jump on them and kill them. Anyways, Gambi getting his ass kicked and not giving Pierce up is enough to get Jefferson to forgive him.
Since the ASA seems to be repeating their experiments with Green Light now, Gambi warns Jefferson to watch out for the new spotter, i.e., the current ASA equivalent of what he used to be. I was wondering who would that be, but I figured it a second before they revealed it- they showed Proctor talking to a lady, and then I remembered, gee, I wonder why they showed Kara in the previously when she has yet to show up.
And yup, turns out Kara has been the new Spotter all this time! Unfortunately, Proctor has figured out Jefferson is Black Lightning, much to Kara's shock. I mean, he think it has to be him, because of the lights going out thing, but he doesn't have definitive proof. But yeah, he tasks Tara with taking Jefferson down, and for her part, she does seem very conflicted.
Other stuff, Lynn runs tests on her daughters and discovers Jennifer is apparently a living battery. Also, Lala is now being haunted by his loser cousin, and making his men try and sell "normal" drugs even thought everyone wants Green Light? I mean, I guess he has powers, but he just seems like some freaking nobody. Like Green Light is the big thing- you got Tobias and the ASA pushing it, and Jefferson fighting it, and you just have this fool wanting to push something else out on the streets. Its like, he just seems like he should be grossly outmatched!
