Runaways- Some pretty interesting stuff this ep. I was thinking Leslie was the scariest because she's the head of the cult, but man, Tina's showing she can be scary as shit. Paying off cops, having mysterious tattoo-ed guys doing secret missions for her, menacing the Yorkes with just her words. Yikes! She definitely might have killed Molly's parents!
Interesting though, speaking of the Minorus, we get more insight into Amy's death. It looks like she committed suicide through OD-ing, following a Pride meeting night. And it looks like Tina covered up the circumstances of her daughter's death. Nico is worried she was another victim of their parents, though it looks like Amy's not in the file of sacrifice candidates (not that Alex and Nico really know if that's actually what that list is) Leslie recommended. I've seen someone theorize she was old enough to be told about the Pride, and the idea was so horrifying she killed herself instead of joining them.
But speaking of telling kids, the Yorkes almost tell the girls everything, particularly when they see them with the dinosaur. (But argh, no one still knows about Molly's super strength1) Unfortunately, Tina shows up, acting all ominous and suggesting it would prolly not be in the Yorkes interest to use all the money they've been funneling away to run off to the Hernandez's ranch in the Yucatan.
So when Gert tries to ask her parents to continue with what they were going to say, her dad just tells her off. Kinda feel sorry for the Yorkes, it sounds like they're in over their head, and seem to feel really bad about shouting at Gert even though they were trying to protect her.
Speaking of what passes for nice with the parents, look at Victor being all surprising! I mean, apparently he's sick or something (he blames anti-Malaria meds), having hallucinated kidnapping a new sacrifice. But just when it looks like he was gonna tan Chase's hide for working in his lab, he actually wants to hear about his son's invention and help him with it!
But good for Chase! He had already said eff off to the Lacrosse team for trying to gang rape Karolina while she was passed out. And he was very supportive and non-judgmental and encouraging when she showed him her powers. So its good he got to have a supportive dad when he was totally expecting a smackdown. Also, they really better not have him and Karolina get together.
Other mysterious stuff at the end- who grabbed Alex? And why?
