TV commentary:
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend- Pretty good ep! As many people suspected, Rebecca has Borderline Personality Disorder. She's skeptical at first (or rather, she doesn't want it to be after reading a little about it online), but eventually after having a sit down with Dr Akopian, she realizes she ticks all the boxes. And once she accepts that, she's ready for treatment.
Anyways, her suicide attempt has affected everyone, though I don't think they've fully gone into how much. Like I'm sure someone will tell Daryl and Paula they both may be too attached to her, stemming from their own problems that needed being addressed.
But yeah, like Valencia, for most of the ep, it seems like she's using Rebecca's suicide attempt to go on social media and get followers and swag. But when Rebecca doesn't answer the bathroom door when Paula knocks (heh, its actually the scene from this season's intro), the girls freak out and almost break down the door. And its then when Valencia breaks down, all upset at almost losing her friends.
And its an important scene for Rebecca and the gang because they go into the reality of her condition- Valencia wants Rebecca to promise she'll never try to do it again, but Rebecca says, realistically, she can't make that promise, but she will try her best to stay well and not attempt suicide again.
Josh, meanwhile, wants to see Rebecca, because he blames himself. The others keep him away, worried what it might do to her. He eventually tries to see her, puppy in hand as a gift, but overhears Rebecca say she hasn't thought of Josh in a while, and how he's irrelevant. She's finally realizing what many of us did, that it was never about Josh. Of course, I think Josh is a little hurt/disappointed rather than relieved upon hearing that, and leaves before any of them see him.
And then there's Nathaniel. The suicide attempt opens up a past trauma for him, where he found his mother after she attempted suicide when he was a kid. So he confronts his parents. His father denies it and gets mad, but eventually he's able to get his mom alone, and she admits she did try and kill herself.
In the end, Nathaniel swings by Rebecca's while she's in therapy to leave a note and her alligator doll at her door. But Rebecca sees him and they talk, and who knew they'd end up being so cute together?
