Star Trek: Discovery: Weird, first Mark as Lt. Stemets, now Angel as the ship's doctor? Any more Rent folks popping up?
Anyways, its kinda obnoxious that the Klingons continue to speak in actual Klingon. I mean, its a slow language, so it makes the scene way longer than it has to be. Plus its so grating that its distracting.
You know, the whole thing with Stemets could have been handled better. I get he's a scientist, and he didn't sign up for a war, but I think Lorca could've tried to explain it first rather than go for the shock of playing the miners cries for help.
Its like, yes, the spore drive is untested and not working, but instead of Lorca being all, "well, we're a warship now!" he could've emphasized that they have no choice, they're the only ones who could possibly save the miners, so he should do whatever it takes, lives depend on them. You know, instead of going straight to the ship wide broadcast of cries of pain and death (including children!)
Heh, but I guess that's the point, Lorca is supposed to be an asshole. Like with the whole, "Oh, find a use for this creature, so Tory from BSG's death won't be in vain!"
Which, its funny that the reaction to that were a whole bunch of people pissed that they just killed off the only other Asian lady character or "eh, were we supposed to care, we hardly knew her!"
Also, really, to really sell that Giorgiou was dead, they had a scene where the Klingons said they ate her? I guess there's nothing more final than that!
