geebsSpoke too soon about my PSN issue, looks like its happened again. Presumably it will start working eventually, but its incredibly frustrating, because there's nothing I can do about it. I mean, support will first tell you to "rebuild the database" on the PS4, which obviously isn't the issue, because the issue isn't limited to the PS4. Then like I said before, they'll tell you to reset your router or get a new one, which is just a long winded way to get a new up. Which is the other thing they'll tell you, to ask you ISP for a new IP. Which again is total horseshit, because as I've said, what it boils down to is they've erroneously blacklisted your IP. So it should be on them to un-blacklist it, not on the user to just get another IP to get around the block.
But yeah, even if I were to get another IP, that's no guarantee it won't happen again in the future. Which is annoying as eff, that at any time I could temporarily get blacklisted and be unable to access PSN for 24 hours at a time. And what kinda crappy service is that?!
Saw F8 of the Furious with the roomie yesterday. The whole behind the scenes stuff does have me curious- apparently there was supposed to be a post credits scene hinting at a future spinoff with the Rock and Jason Statham, but Vin Diesel didn't know about it and once he heard he got pissed and the studios had to remove it. Which really makes me curious about this feud between the Rock and Vin Diesel. Sounds like its pretty bad, and one or the other might not be in future installments.
So the thing that makes Dom betray the team? Charlize Theron's character, Cipher, kidnapped Elena and her baby son, who also happens to be Dom's son. Apparently she found out she was preggers right after Dom discovered Letty was alive. And so she didn't want to know what to do or say at first, but was going to tell him after he and Letty got back from their honeymoon.
Which, I'm skeptical about the timeline. So they're saying she found out she was pregnant at the beginning of Fast 6? And she wasn't showing during Furious 7, which means only a couple of months had passed. Which more time had to pass than that, because it seemed like Han was in Tokyo for a while during Tokyo Drift. I mean, are they saying he was only DK for a few weeks before meeting Sean? He seemed pretty established.
In any case, apparently she had corrupted Owen Shaw, which is why Deckard hates her, and Jakande had also worked for her. So this whole time, she was the bad guy behind the scenes?! So yeah, because Deckard blames her for his little brother being a bad guy, she helps the team.
Anyways, somehow Dom couldn't contact his old team, but he could get a hold of Leo and Santos, as well as the random Cuban guy he had made friends with in the beginning? So with their help, he's secretly able to meet with the Shaw's mom, and makes a deal with her to fake Deckard's death so he and Owen can infiltrate Cipher's plane to rescue Dom's son (as Tormund Giantbane had executed Elena in reprisal for Dom not following Cipher's orders)
So they do a retcon where they redeem the previous baddies- Owen only became bad after meeting Cipher, and they hint Deckard wasn't as bad as they thought. I mean, here Hobbs got burned because the mission he was on with the team was unofficial and he was disavoed. And Hobbs looks up Deckard's service record, and saw all sorts of accolades and commendations, and wonders what happened, and Deckard brings up how Hobbs was just in a similar situation, where he was branded a criminal even though he was just on a secret mission.
So Deckard was just a burned spec ops guy, and all is forgiven. Which, even if that's the case, didn't he kill Han? Gisele died because of Owen's shenanigans. But the team is like, whatever?!
Also, so since Cipher had god's eye, the team had to travel in shipping trucks and wot-not to stay off the grid. But I thought they said it used everything, like random people's cellphones hearing the target in the background and stuff. And with Roman's loudmouth, surely they would've picked him up that way.
