ME blather- I cheated, and looked ahead at both consequences of a choice- what seems like the hardest choice so far! Save the Salarian Pathfinder or the Krogan Scouts. The problem is, Raeka is pretty cool (and interesting, voiced by Yara Greyjoy, that's yet another GoT chick in this). But choosing her over the scouts will get Drack upset at you. Plus later in the game, those scouts will help you and you won't end up having to face some Kett Behemoths later, since those scouts weren't around to be uplifted into them.

So its basically, is saving this cool seeming character worth Drack being pissed and having a late game mission be harder. I've struggled with it, and I can't not pick the latter choice. I mean, its not a matter of making the game easier. Its more about Drack- the whole reason the Krogan left the Nexus, why they've had a chip on their shoulder since the Rachni War is that they're viewed as nothing more than expendable muscle. They're brought in to do dirty work and save people's asses, and time and time again they've been screwed over by it.

Granted, they weren't exactly innocent the first time around, making "aggressive" colonization moves after the Rachni war was over. But seeing how Drack reacts if you chose Raeka, I don't think I can deal with him thinking I'm just like that, that his people aren't important to me. I want to show him he's valued.

Like if Raeka was all, "Please help me!" or "Fuck you for not saving me, asshole!" then I'd feel totally guilty. But the way it plays out, she's all, "Crap, I'm trapped here, guess this is goodbye!" She's not asking for your help (which is basically the same reasoning I used to justify saving Ashley over Kaidan way back in ME1), she's just pleasantly surprised if you do.

Heh, also, if there was no backup salarian pathfinder, and not saving her means you didn't have the requisite three pathfinders needed at the end, the decision would be infinitely harder.

There's another big decision where you can help the Krogan earlier, which I did, so I felt less bad letting Krogan die there. Plus I gave another decision to the Krogan in the endgame. Two out of three, and Drack and Kesh were cool with me in the end.
