ASOUE- Oh, this show is evil! I'll have to admit, they got me, I didn't see that coming. Its funny because I said in my previous post that the show wasn't as despair inducing as it would have you believe, but for once I was incredibly saddened. I mean, not being able to be taken in by Judge Strauss sucked, as did Uncle Monty dying just when they had grown to trust him and finally believe their lot had changed. Aunt Josephine dying after she finally found her courage was also kinda sad, though heh, her final moments being her typical grammar-nazi self kinda took the wind out of her death.
But yeah, like I said, I totally thought the parents we see were their parents! So there was a light at the end of the tunnel for the kids! Nope, turns out they were the Quaqmires, not the Baudelaires! Argh! Pretty clever show, that was quite the sucker punch. Like the fact that Will Arnett and Cobie Smulders were credited as "Mother" and "Father" should have been a clue, though I had taken that as more the show trying to be clever and act like we don't know that that's supposed to be their parents. It didn't occur to me they were purposely obscuring their names so you wouldn't realize they weren't the mother and father you thought they were.
