TV commentary:
Walking Dead- Finally caught this latest ep. Had been putting it off because I wasn't looking forward to this ep from the description. I mean, its basically an ep of Negan trying to break Daryl. I wasn't looking forward to more torture pr0n, but thankfully, this ep was tame on that point.
We do get a little more backstory on Dwight, and why he's reluctantly with Negan. He's just doing what he can for him and his. Which is why this ep is a little baffling, because they're trying to break Daryl, but they're going about it the wrong way! I mean, the season premiere, killing Abraham and Glenn broke Rick because that's his pressure point, his people. And that's the same thing with Daryl, and just about all of the core gang.
So why the eff would any of this "torture" make Daryl break?! Like maybe if they took other people prisoner with him and threatened them, that would give him pause. But at this point, Daryl don't care! He was already a lone wolf who didn't care if he lived or died until he found the group and had something to care for. But now they're not around, and I'm sure he feels incredibly guilty about what happened to Glenn and thinks he doesn't deserve Maggie or the group's forgiveness and that he should be written off (not literally! I mean the group should just no longer care about him). So if he doesn't care about himself, and he doesn't think the group should care about him, what can Negan really do to Daryl?
I mean, if he really wanted Daryl to kneel, he should be making threats against Alexandria! Daryl doesn't care if he dies or gets put on the spike as a zombie!
