TV commentary:
Gotham- Some new faces. So the Mad Hatter comes to Gotham, played by that one Wolf from the Walking Dead. Man, that guy is creepy looking.
Also, Amy Acker's husband apparently plays Lee's new fiancee... who is Falcone's son! Something I inadvertently spoiled for myself trying to confirm that was Amy Acker's husband.
Timeless- Whoops! So when I saw a commercial showing Abigail Spencer all shocked her mom is okay, and then the ep started with her sister in the kitchen, I had a feeling that her mom being okay would come at the cost of her sister not existing. And I was right. Which is one of my time travel nightmare scenarios, uncreating people. Like its one thing to stop them from getting hit by a car or something to prevent them from dying, but how does Lucy know what changed that prevented her sister from being conceived?
Obviously, this is a horrible outcome- yes, her mom is fine, but they might've found a cure for whatever her mom had. There is no way to fix "not existing". Especially if they can't go back on themselves. They already effed up the Hinderberg disaster (So is "Oh, the Humanity!" no longer a famous quote in their world?).
Heh,
clevemire commented its nonsensical for them to send a woman and a black guy back in time, particularly if they're going to America's past. Because as we know, it wasn't until recently that women and minorities started getting something approaching equality. (Heh, even now white dudes still have it better than their counterparts) So sending a woman or black guy is going to raise eyebrows. If you're trying to stay on the down low, its prolly best to send three white dudes. I mean, they hang a lampshade on it by having glasses and mustache telling his boss that sending him to the past is not the best idea for his well being.
And its funny, because the one white dude they have, 90210 guy/voice of Anakin, should be the most replaceable on the team. Yeah, he's delta force, but its prolly easier to replace him with another dude, as opposed to glasses and mustache (he has a name, but he'll always be glasses and mustache to me) who's apparently the only one who can drive the time machine, and Abigail Spencer, who's the big history expert (and apparently there's mysteriousness going on that points to her being purposely picked for the mission, and the bad guy apparently is using future her's diary for direction)
Which, if they're going to be changing history in minor ways, it seems like Lucy's knowledge will eventually become defunct. I mean, if little things can cause changes in ways they can't even predict, then it seems there could be hundreds of things that she knows that no longer happened that way in her current present!
