TV commentary:
Dead of Summer- Dead of Summer, I have underestimated you! So I caught the first couple of eps, but it didn't really grab me. I mean, there was a intriguing ongoing mystery, but all the flashbacks were sad and depressing. All, look how much these kids lives sucked for them! But then I heard about the twist they pulled off, and its amazing!
So Amy isn't this poor innocent victim, she's this psychopath who's been manipulating things from the beginning because she wanted to unite with the demon! She's the masked person doing all the killing, she used and usurped the cult because they totally had things wrong (they thought the vessel needed to be an innocent, but the reason the rituals never worked before was because they actually need a dark soul), and they show us the rest of her flashback from the first ep, where she purposely drops Margot so she can take her counselor spot. Heh, turns out Deb had no room, and was all, "Well, if one of the counselors drops out, you'll be the first one I call!" So she engineered the whole situation at the party in order to literally drop Margot out.
And ha, that Krissy girl figures out Amy is wrong, and tries to warn Deb, and Amy is all, "How do you like my Jordache's now, bitch!?" I mean, Amy's a psycho, but she's right, that girl was kinda a bitch.
But yeah, I love that particular twist, where the sweet, innocent girl turns out to be a secretly evil devious mastermind? Its right up there with the good guy who's always been shown to be selfless, and falling in love with someone on the side of the bad guys, and its like the first time they've ever wanted anything in their life, and they finally choose to pick themselves first for once and give up the goody goody role to be with them.
