The Flash- Argh, are you serious?! So turns out Zoom wants to challenge Flash to a race to see who's faster. Of course, its more than just a race. The race will charge up a magnetron that will destroy the multiverse. Well except for prime Earth, as apparently its some sort of nexus that all other Earths deviate from. Because Zoom is a psychopath, but not suicidal. He wants the cred for destroying the multiverse, but he needs a place to actually live in and exist for him to enjoy that.
Flash is up for it, but in the wake of Henry's death, the gang think he's emotionally compromised. So they collectively decide to lock Barry up and then imprison Zoom on Earth 2 and close the breeches for good. They end up tranqing Barry and having Cailtin draw Zoom out. Only Zoom's not going to fall for her act. But they knew he wasn't going to fall for it, so it was really a hologram version of her confronting him.
With their trap sprung, Cicso opens a breach, Harry hits him with the depowering collar, and Joe tries to snipe him with a tranq gun. But it jams, so Joe tries to stab Zoom with the dart, but Zoom ends up dragging them both through the breach.
As they struggle with what to do next, Wally shows up, and hearing what happened to his dad, frees Flash, and they tell the others that they shouldn't have made the decision without them. So Barry challenges Zoom to a race, if he frees Joe. Zoom agrees, and they race, powering up the magnetron! Barry pulls off the time remnant trick from Zoom, and has one of him stop racing to rescue Joe, and the other creates an anti-wave to cancel out the destructive one from the magnetron, dying in the process.
Since he created a time remnant, the time wraiths show up, but since they hate Zoom more than they care about Barry's messing with time, they grab Zoom and drag him off. So, the good guys win and they free the man in the iron mask. Who's the real Jay Garrick. Who is an Earth-3 Henry Allen. As we heard in a previous ep, Henry's mother's maiden name was Garrick. So I guess on that Earth, she never took her husband's name for some reason?
Anyways, the encounter leaves Barry visibly shaken, since he just lost his dad. Meanwhile, Jay helps Harry and Jessie get back to Earth-2. There was this whole thing where she saw how much her dad loved being with the gang, but all her friends are in Earth-2. She says she has to go back, but her dad should stay with his friends. Harry chooses her though, and goes back to Earth-2 with her. Heh, Cisco says he may vibe in from time to time to see his friend, while Jessie and Wally express disappointment for not seeing where they were headed. (Hey, she's the one who decided to leave!)
So it seems like a happy ending, but Barry is still upset about everything that happened. Iris goes up to him, and says they should get together. And while he loves the idea, now he's the one not in the right place. She says she'll wait for Barry to do what he needs to do.
Unfortunately, what Barry needs to do is go back in time and save his mom. Which causes past him that traveled back and hid in the closet and was called off by another Flash to disappear. But Flash doesn't seem to care, he saved his mom. Which argh, its like a big reset button, which I hate when they do that! Will they be crazy and go with a new continuity? What will that mean for the other DC shows? Or will it be undone?
