TV commentary:

Legends of Tomorrow- Weird, I wonder if Arrow will address this at all. So since things are fucked, Rip decides to drop them back off 5 months from when he picked them up. We find out this is specifically because of Sara (more on that later). She shows up at the lair where her father was waiting just as he was on Arrow, and is crushed when she discovered Laurel died when she was gone.

I wanna say she got dropped off right around the time the last ep of Arrow ended. But then when the gang decides they want to call Rip back and do what needs to be done to stop Savage and rescue Kendra and Carter, its morning. Did the Arrow stuff get resolved in the interim? The ep ended at a pretty crucial moment, with Dahrk confronting Felicity, Donna and Curtis, and that was at night. Did they get captured and Dahrk is just holding them hostage and Team Arrow hasn't done anything yet? It seems like Sara would be pretty useful.

Then again, I guess since she wants Rip to take her back so she can rescue Laurel, none of these "current events" matter to her. So she's not bothering to help because maybe she can do something to stop things from getting to that point in the first place. Anyways, Rip refuses to take her back. I guess with him unable to stop his own family from dying, he thinks she can't help Laurel anyways. Indeed, the reason he picked her up when she did and took her out of play was because if she stayed, she, Laurel AND their dad would all get killed by Dahrk. It was the least bad choice, and he manages to convince Sara to reluctantly accept this.

Anyways, Vandal Savage takes a page out of the current 12 Monkeys playbook, and is going to try and create a super paradox by detonating the Thanagarian meteors at three points in time- 1958, 1975, and 2021. Since the world can't be destroyed thrice over, time will reset to the last Thanagrian meteor shower, and Savage will be able to guide the world under his power from 17,000 BC on.

Of course, they stop him and kill him. So, their mission is done and they're dropped back in their lives. Only Rip decides since the Time Masters are blinded because they destroyed the Oculus, someone needs to protect the time stream, and he's gonna do it, with whoever wants to help. Everyone but the Hawks decide to. Only when they do get ready to go off on a new adventure, another Waverunner shows up. It was piloted by Mike from Suits! He's playing Hourman here, and warns them that Rip sent him back from the future, to stop them from going off on their ship, as it will lead to terrible things!
