Game of Thrones- Ha, those teases! So, book readers were prolly all egg-cited about Bran flashing back to the Tower of Joy, where Ned, Howland Reed and some other guys face Arthur Dayne and another Kings Guard (I think there were some other dudes in the book) outside the Tower of Joy. Heh, I think some people were annoyed that Arthur Dayne was dual wielding, when he's supposed to be the wielder of "The Sword of the Morning". So some joked, I guess its Swords of the Morning?
But the readers finally got the answer to the question, how did Ned win against Dayne, the best swordsman in the realm? By Reed stabbing him in the back! Else, Ned would've been dead like all the other dudes Dayne killed. But ha, the readers are prolly pissed that they did not finally get to see what was in the Tower of Joy!
Also, the timeline still confuses the hell out of me. So Ned is pretty young here, and he mentions Jamie stabbing the king. And I guess its because Jamie and Cersei in the present seem about at least a decade younger than Ned and Catelyn. So if Ned was that young back then during Robert's Rebellion, how young was freaking Jamie!?
Other stuff in the North. Jon Snow wakes up, everyone's happy except Jon, who's having confidence issues since a bunch of guys stabbed him for his last big decision. Davos is all, so what if you make a mistake, that's how you learn. Its better than doing nothing. Anyways, Jon executes the traitors, and then turns leadership over to that one guy, and walks out of Castle Black for, somewhere?
In Winterfell, Smalljon Umber pledge their loyalty to Ramsey by turning over Osha and Rickon, who were apparently captured by the Umbers. And fans are pissed because to prove that's the real Rickon, they present Shaggy Dog's decapitated head. Well, that and they don't want more good guys in Ramsey's clutches.
Sam and Gilly are still on a ship to Oldtown. Sam wants to leave Gilly with his family, since Maesters in training aren't allowed to have women and kids in the Citadel. Gilly is all, they weren't allowed in Castle Black either, but it worked out. Of course, that was a totally different situation. Castle Black is like a frontier outpost. Even though the Night's Watch make vows and stuff, due to the nature of the constant conflict, I think they can fudge things for situations like, "They don't want to leave a girl and her newborn kid out alone with ice zombies wandering about". But the Citadel is like a school. Its like some guy having his wife and kid in his dorm room. But anyways, she's insistent that she goes where he goes.
Down in King's Landing. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow, but they only have words. Jamie and Cersei start trying to get shit done. They have that one Meister start to take over Varys' little birds since he's no longer around, in the hopes of getting intel. Then they try to get onto the small council, since Jamie as the head of the Kingsguard is allowed to sit in. But they're not having it, and are all, if Jamie, Cersei, and Gregor are going to sit in, they can't stop the rest of the council from getting up and leaving.
In the rest of the world, Varys uses his powers of persuasion to find out who's funding the Sons of the Harpy. Apparently the rich guys from the other cities they had conquered and have subsequently retaken themselves. It sounds like Varys has some ideas how to remedy that situation.
Arya has a training montage and Jaqen gives her back her sight. And Dany has to deal with other widows who are all, "You think you're so great!" and thinks she's a fool if she thinks she's ever getting out of there.
