Criminal Minds- Interesting. These guys who kidnapped Morgan are just hired guns. But we never find out by who! I mean, the team thought about that assassin group first, because who else would have beef with him and have that kind of pull?
Still, Morgan is pretty bad-ass, taking out all his captors on his own, and just staying alive long enough for the team to find him.
Suit- Ha, smooth move, dumbasses! Mike falls on his sword, and he would've been found innocent! That's the problem with all these friggin characters on this show. They have no trust/faith. Or rather, they have some trust/faith, but then they freaking tilt at the last second, and for some reason they haven't learned when they do that, it blows up in their faces! Heh, when Harvey tells Donna to get him the name of the jury foreman, its amusing he phrases it, the only way he would accept Mike throwing is life away is if he knows what that final verdict is going to be. Because he, like Mike, assumes that they were going to render a guilty verdict, so he just wants to be assured Mike did the best thing. But nope, sorry!
What really makes it for me is that the foreman was actually kinda pissed about the whole thing. Just like that dead guy's mom, no one in the jury room believed for a second Mike went to law school. But, they didn't think Gibbs proved her case, indeed, they wanted Mike to continue to practice law, because he's one of the good guys. But then the jackass lost faith in them and cut a deal. And heh, to twist the knife even further in Harvey, Mrs. Danner tells Harvey she needs to get Mike off because prison will ruin him, and then Mike is looking for g-d reassurance that he made the right call. That's the other thing I hate about these characters, they don't trust, and they don't commit. Its like if you weren't sure going to jail for 2 years was the right call, why the eff did you make it?! Don't look to someone else to justify it for you!
But I digress. I mean, to be fair, I guess the show wanted to make it that Mike would never get off scot free, because he did commit a crime. But like I said, while Mike's deal absolved the rest of them from jail time, it still fucks up their shit, because now he is a known fraud, so the firm is in deep shit.
I'm amused Jack is able to use this to get out- Jessica can't use the mysterious crime she has on him (and its apparently an outright crime) because otherwise that's two crimes that happened under her watch.
Getting back to the inability for these characters to trust- Zane tells Jessica he doesn't give a shit Mike's a fraud. He's pissed Jessica didn't come to him when he started dating Rachel. And when Jessica is all, how do I know you wouldn't have come after us, Laura is all, because of Rachel! In the end, if Rachel chose PSL, Robert couldn't have gone through with any action against them for the sake of his daughter!
I will say, I am impressed with all the former guest characters they brought back this season. As I've said before, I always enjoy when shows do that, because it makes their worlds seem more real to have it populated with people who do still exist even years later, as opposed to disappearing into the ether once their first spot is done.
Like I like whenever they have Katrina on. Because she was kinda like Louis' Mike. And as such I would think she would be someone still in Louis' life, even if they're in different firms. Though at first I was annoyed she was pissed at Louis for not bringing her back. She had to know there were limits to his blackmailing to get to be named partner. And its not like she was destitute, they made sure she got a cushy job at Zane's firm!
But ha, she really is Louis protege. So the way Zane was going to break the non-compete was by using the morals clause- if any named partner knows a crime was committed and does nothing, other partners are allowed to break free, no problem. Only, Louis didn't know that at the time, so when he confronted Katrina, the reason she went at him like that was to get him to admit he knew about Mike, because she was recording it.
But aw, showing he is still sort of a mentor, when she says she's just doing what he would've done, he tells her he's learned that that behavior isn't worth it.
Of course, I talk about how these people don't trust, but ha, the named partners decide to waive the non-competes to save Mike, even though they don't actually have a deal in place with Anita yet. Jessica is all, "Are you crazy?" at first to Harvey, but Louis chimes in that Mike is family. They have to do this. So they do, and gut the firm, and Anita doesn't go for it! Whoops! Its like dammit, I guess whatever they do it does just blow up in their face! At least they realize it was the right thing to do, to support their family. And hey, whoever stays, at least they can trust those people! (heh, turns out, they can trust nobody! Heh, does that include Gretchen? Or did they just not want to pay the actress to show up for like 2 seconds)
But yeah, Anita makes it clear to Harvey she's doing this because they are the bad guys, they committed a crime, no matter how good a man Mike is, he still committed fraud. And giving her murderers now to get Mike off doesn't balance the scales- those guys are murderers! He should give her the names regardless, not keep it in his pocket to use as leverage, because how is that real justice? He's only getting those people justice if he gets something out of it!
So in the end, Mike asks Rachel to marry him, then changes his mind (ha, I know he didn't want to go through with it because Rach's parents were only there because they had to be there, not because they wanted, but after Jessica implored Robert to show up and he actually did, its not doing him any favors to just change his mind again!) and then he goes to jail. And yes, this show is still continuing. Dammit!
