TV commentary:
SVU- Kinda a crazy plot to me this week. NYPD vice cops and priests trafficking Catholic school girls? How does that work? Like I know that crime procedurals like doing church scandals, but this is outlandish! Its like someone using their position of authority to diddle underage kids, that's obviously entirely possible. But sex trafficking? I mean, what schools are these? Catholic schools in NY, that's not free. Usually, exploited kids are poor, they have no one to turn to, that's how they get exploited. Most of the students at Catholic schools are there because they have people who are invested in enough to pay for their education. I wouldn't think they'd be so out of touch that they don't their freaking daughters are out at all hours of the night being pimped out. (That being said, is it bad that I thought the blond girl at the party wearing a black bra as a top was pretty cute?)
But this ep was full of what the hell moments. I know Nina was a nun, but Liv also heard allegations she was crazy. She would just live her kid alone with a witness!?
And the Barba thing was also freaking ridiculous. So the monsignor told Barba he and Tucker's cousin had gone to him about those vice cops and Tucker covered it up. So then Tucker would a year later just randomly show up and accuse his cousin of being a pimp? Also, I get the monsignor is a monsignor, but Barba knows Olivia! Would he really think she would be snowed by Tucker because she's effin him?!
But ooh, Liv gets shitcanned, and Dodds dad uses that to install Dodds in her place. I don't think he knew, but damn if everyone in the squad wouldn't think he was being slimy? What's up with the cliffhanger ending?
Also, what did it mean that that one nun was "saying a rosary for Eliot"? What the hell happened to Stabler?
