Luther- bbv('This is total BS!') As much as I love this show, I'm kinda annoyed they continued it, since they ended on a pretty good stopping point to the story. And what I feared happened would. Luther and Alice were supposed to run away together! I guess they were about to, Alice was securing funds so they could do that. But then it all falls apart because of some crazy bitch who had a beef with Luther because she felt he didn't help her like she should have.
Luther promised this chick Megan when she was 10 that he would bring some scary classmate of hers to justice. But he was unable to, because he was still a green rookie and couldn't get traction. Megan chalked it up to him being a lying liar, and blamed him for the constant fear she was in. I mean, I get she was just a kid, and this Stacy chick literally got away with murder, but seeing Stacy now, she's just some trashy loser. This was who Megan was scared of? And because of all this Alice died?! Horseshit!
Heh, its funny the gangster was aghast that Luther would just give the diamonds to him at the end, but as Luther said, what does he need the diamonds for now? Alice is gone, so there's no using it for running away money since he's no longer running away.
But yeah, he frames this Stacy chick with drugs in order to get the ball rolling on getting her convicted for the murders she actually did commit. Heh, to be fair Megan was prolly right, Luther or Alice would've killed each other. And what is up with him attracting crazy chyx who think they're doing him a favor. Alice was his blind spot, so she took care of her for him. Luther said he's coming after her, but that's what he told Alice back in the day. So is he going to end up with her in a couple of seasons?
It is hilarious how all these threads in Luther's life got all tangled up. Like if Alice didn't die, the cops wouldn't have come to talk to him. And if he didn't rekindle his relationship with them, Theo would have never tried to ask him for advice on the cannibal killer, getting blown up during the conversation and forcing Luther back into the fold.
Also, he wouldn't have gone after the guy Alice was working for to steal the diamonds and get a cut, kidnapping him and interrogating him for info. In doing so, he pissed the guy off, so the guy sent assassins after him. Luther thwarted them, taking a gun they tried to shoot him with and keeping it in his glove box. Which Ygritte accidentally found and knicked. So when they find the cannibal guy, she uses it to kill him to get revenge for her partner.
I know she ends up lying where she got the gun, but isn't it a good shoot? The cannibal was about to hammer someone to death! I guess technically she could have just brandished it at him in the first place to get him to give up, but instead she hid as one of the kids and shot him when he was a threat. But fuck that guy, he's a crazy cannibal.
