TV commentary:

Doctor Who- Cool ep. Ashildr is one of the cooler editions to the mythos. Or rather, "Me". So, while she is immortal, she's still human, so her brain isn't really meant to handle living so long. As such, in her 800 years so of living, she's forgotten a lot. Including her original name- after all, everyone who used to call her that has long since passed. As such, Ashildr, who's lead many lives under many identities now, doesn't even bother making up a fake name. Whatever name she tells, those people will eventually die off eventually anyways, so why bother having a name?

She also has shelves and shelves of journals, which she uses in lieu of memories. Of course, there are pages ripped out of many of them, the horrible stuff that's too much to bear so she effectively erased them. Surprisingly, the death of her children during the Black Plague is still in there, so the Doc is all, "There's stuff worse than the death of your own children?!" But she says she kept that horrible memory in there as a reminder to never have children again, as they will just die on her. Which, Maisie Williams still looks like a little girl (even though she's 18), so its weird that she had a couple of kids. And she has yet to use the other medical pack as she has not met anyone worthy.

But yeah, she in the Doctor have a bit of a tiff in this ep. Centuries of unlife have led to ennui. When she ran into the Doctor again in this ep, she was hoping the Doctor was there to take her away, to go off and have adventures. She's tired of Earth, as things are far too boring for her.

Interestingly enough, when the Doctor asks how she knew he was a traveler and why she accuses him of always running away as if she knows more about him than she's letting on, she keeps being evasive. At one point she claimed she just guessed, but eventually she fesses up all his years of adventuring, he made a ton of ripples (tidal waves!) on Earth, so she was bound to bump into someone he knows. She doesn't say who, though some viewers think her accusatory tone point to Missy.

In any case, the Doctor refuses to travel with her, and she's pretty upset. Eventually he tells her why- its unwise for two immortals like them to be traveling together. The reason he picks mortal companions is because they are mortal, they appreciate life more because its so fleeting to them. If they were to travel together, they'd forget the importance of life since they'd be removed from the mere mortals. All these years of immortality has caused her to see everyone else as "mayflies", willing to sacrifice them like they're nothing, because to her they come and go in an instant.

So in the ep, Lady Me (Ashildr) was secretly working with an alien to find some artifact (that the Doctor was also looking for). The alien claims he needs it to fix his ship, promising to taker her with him if she retrieves it for him. She does, but then she finds out to get it to work requires a death. She's totally willing to sacrifice her sickly man-servant, since he's on his last legs anyways. But, she ends up sacrificing her rival, Swift Sam.

But then it turns out the alien was lying, and the artifact opens a portal with which an invading fleet is supposed to attack. They start shooting at randoms, and it turns out Me isn't as callous as she thought. She cares for the people and the trouble she brought upon them. And so, she uses the medipak to revive Swift Sam, which shuts down the portal.

So with the crisis over, the Doctor says maybe Swift Sam isn't immortal like her, that the interaction with the artifact may have drained it. So, he might just live a normal life. But the Doc admits he's just guessing/making that up.

In the end, Me says maybe she'll use her immortality to watch over the people the Doc leaves behind, help clean up his messes. The Doctor asks if that makes them enemies, but she says she's still a friend. Though she also says, its not your enemies you should watch out for, its your friends. Heh, the Doctor mentions Captain Jack, stating she'll prolly meet him eventually.

The Doctor eventually takes his leave again, and meets up with Clara. Clara shows him a pic one of her students took to thank him for some help he gave her earlier, and the Doctor notices Me watching Clara in the background.
