Castle- This season is shaping up to be kinda weird. I mean, Stana was the only holdout last season but she did eventually sign on for this season. But heh, it sure seemed like these first two eps that her character could be gone. First Castle's "step-mom" said she'd have to be on the run, and then even after things got "resolved", Kate moves out so she could continue to pursue this. Was it a subtle jab by the writers to show they could do the show without her and have a way for her character to be gone without killing her off since Morgan from Chuck comes from a future where they're still together?
But yeah, I thought her leaving was her like running off and disappearing, but she's still there in the previews, so maybe she's just separating from Castle and living somewhere else. Not sure how that will protect him. "Oh, you're still looking into this case? Oh, you don't live with Rick anymore? Guess we can't use him as leverage!" I mean, if they just grabbed him and kidnapped him, its not like that wouldn't work, regardless if they were officially still together or not.
Anyways, the weird thing about when they made Castle's dad a super spy, is, it seems that would afford him some protections. Like it seems his dad is keeping track of him, so if there were like squads of hitmen to go after him, he'd go after them. So that makes this whole thing weird. Because the big bad is supposedly in the CIA, who knows Castle's dad is a spy. Or at least some of them do, like Jennifer Beals' character did, and she was a Russian double agent! This big bad is an information broker, so they should most definitely know. So I would think they'd try not to kill Castle, because then that would just cause his dad to go after him, and they're already trying to avoid his dad's wife.
Which is another thing that doesn't seem to track for me. The last ep he was in, the implication was that he still loved Martha and his family, but he can't have that life because of his job. But if he still holds a torch for Martha, and he's a firm believer in very few attachments, who is this lady he married then? Why would they ever get married?
