The Player- So, I'd seen commercials for "The Player" on NBC with Wesley Snipes, but had no idea what it was about. (Also, it apparently also stars one of the guys on Strike Back, while "Blindspot" stars the other. That's kinda weird that the two leads in that show all of a sudden got new shows in NBC this season) So its a little like PoI, in that there's something able to predict crimes before they happen. But instead of it being a all powerful AI, its a bunch of rich people. And the conceit is, they're bored, and if their apparent innate... restlessness, would cause them to topple nations and kill world leaders and do other tumultuous things. So apparently betting on whether "The Player" can or cannot stop a crime satiates their needs and they're not off ruining the world.
Its interesting enough, and funny, because this actually seems like what the plebes who jumped ship on PoI when it started getting good and focusing on interesting things like the nature of AI and government spying and all that stuff want. Just some guy week to week trying to stop crimes with the help of an all knowing thingie.
There's of course ongoing mysteries- to rescue the girl, the guy who supposedly killed his wife got away. So he's prolly going to try hunting that guy down. But apparently there's some hinkiness going on with his wife's "death". First, when he sees the body in the morgue at the end, it doesn't have the tattoo on her ring finger, and the implication is it was dropped off by Snipes. Did they fake his wife's death? Did she really die, and its some sort of twisted psychological game, that if there's something off about her death he will be more motivated?
Which brings us to the second thing, Dealer lady apparently knew Ginny. I guess she broke into her computer and erased a bunch of stuff so Alex wouldn't find out. But its weird, because when she was looking at the pic of herself and Ginny, she seemed upset. So it seems like she thinks her friend is dead too. Unless Snipes has her in the dark as well.
