Defiance- How deliciously cruel! So, it looks like the chickens have finally come home to roost for Nolan and Irisa. As expected, them sharing a pod to save themselves during last season finale wasn't wise. As Yewll brings up, the pods were not made for two people, much less human. So to compensate, the pod put some ark tech in both their brains. Which allows them to have a shared dream experience while they're both in a coma.
We learn Nolan used to have a bad-ass sister, who ended up getting killed during the pale wars because Nolan pussied out and didn't want to kill some random Irathi who was pretending to surrender. He hesitated, and his sister ended up getting shot. Since then, he was very anti-Votan, except for Irisa, who he felt didn't count. Because of his hesitation getting his sister killed, Nolan was kinda an a-hole as a father, and was pretty hell bent on making Irisa ruthless so she'd be a survivor.
Little did he know that kinda freaked out young Irisa, and on the night they first really bonded, he had no idea she was actually about to kill him. But he does now that they had the shared trip through memory lane. Nolan's sorry for doing that to her, and she's understands why he did. And even though in the start of the show she seemed like this ruthless killer, that was never really her. I mean, she did what she did to survive, but she's never really liked it. And after committing mass murder on the order of thousands (millions?) through her link to the Arks last season, enough is enough.
So, she wants to leave, because she can't kill anymore, and if she's there, she'll hamper her dad because he can't be the guy he needs to be to save the town and protect her at the same time. So, he's fine with letting her go. Only, Yewll, who had operated on them to save them say she couldn't remove the ark tech, she could only repair what was damaged. But as long as they stay relatively near to each other, they should be fine. So its like, price is right losing sound, because now she can't leave her father's side.
Speaking of Yewll, to fix Nolan and Irisa, she needed to perform simultaneous surgery on them, and obviously Sav from Degrassi, being a mere veterinarian, is not up to snuff. So, they look to the Omec for help. Kindzi gives Yewll access to a drone to do the surgery, and as stated above, she's successful. Later, Kindzi's dad chastises her, because Yewll could've used the connection to back door into their systems. Lucky for them she didn't. She tells her father it was worth the risk because she got a sample of Yewll, and now they can grow a whole indogene army based on her, which would be good stock because she's smart and resourceful. T'evgin doesn't think it would be wise, they don't want to upset Defiance before they've gotten all the resources they've need for the mine, so he wants her to destroy the sample. Obviously, she's not going to.
Oh, and Alak escapes and makes it back to Defiance, and the ep ends with Alak putting a knife to his mom's throat. So I guess the jig is up for the Tarrs? I get why Alak is pissed, Stahma killed his love, and I guess he doesn't know the whole story, but she basically had no choice. Even Christie knew that, accepted it, which is why she was fine with Staham cutting her throat. Its like Rahm Tak was all, either she kills Christie or Datak dies. Now, I'm sure people would have preferred her to let Datak to die, but really, it was no choice at all. If she like didn't shoot Christie, did they think he'd just kill Datak and let them live, they would all be dead right now, and Christie needed someone to take care of her child before Rham Tak found it. And so she accepted her death.
Dark Matter- Some interesting reveals, possible red herrings? Wait, what the hell, Four is some former crown prince, wouldn't that have been in his dossier. If he is like well known enough to make the news as a suspect in the murder of his father, a king, I would figure his wanted poster would drop that he's a freaking prince!
But yeah, Six sees a commercial about some sort of clone/Total Recall thing, where people can go on vacays on other planets by lying in a pod, their consciousness beamed to a pod containing a genetically identical duplicate wherever they want to be in the universe. And so they have their adventures in that body, and then the memories are beamed back to them.
So we think maybe the crew are clones, or the originals who's memories got scrambled. But nope, real Corso captured 1 and 3, and he tries to figure out what one is, but says he can't be a clone, because they're only supposed to last a few days. What he does know was that he was given the contract on the miners with the other folks, but then his safe house got raided, and by the time he got his shit together, he saw a fake him getting on the Raza with the rest of the crew. So its possible One was a fake before all of this started. So he may even be the one responsible for their memory loss.
When they escape, Three keeps mum on this, covering for One, in exchange for One backing him up from now on.
Meanwhile, poor Android is sad no one needed her this ep, and Two and Five make some money at the Casino. They run afoul of the management for card counting, who refuses to let them keep their winnings. Two flips out and straight up slaughters them all. So now Five is all scared of her and doesn't like her anymore.
