TV commentary:

Dark Matter- Its piqued my interest enough to keep watching. Plus Two is pretty cute. So, the ep starts with some people waking up from stasis because the ship they're on got hit by an asteroid. They apparently have no memory and there's six of them:

One- the young, handsome goody-goody, played by that one teacher who had a thing with Tristan on Degrassi

Two- the cute half-asian boss lady.

Three- the brash gun dude played by that one guy from Lost Girl who Bo was seeing for a while even though he was dark fey. The one who like built stuff.

Four- the stoic sword guy.

Five- a green haired teen girl who's good at fixing things and has mysterious dreams. Its kinda like she's a mix of Kaylee and River.

Six- the big black guy, played by Roger T Cross, because this is a Canadian show.

They eventually wake up the ship's droid, which has no name, so they just call her the droid, played by Dr Lauren from Lost Girl. It attacks them at first, but Two is able to temporarily shut her down and wipe her "kill them" protocols so they can talk.

The rest of them are hesitant to turn her back on, but Two says Droid's an interface to the ship, so they need her to get the ship back up and running and maybe tell them who they are. But, it turns out the ships memory banks were wiped, which can only have been done intentionally, making everyone suspicious of each other.

They worry one of them is faking it, but One claims he saw everyone when they woke up, the shock on their faces, you can't fake that. Of course, no one saw him wake up, so how do they know he's not lying?

In the middle of their coasting and repairing, a mysterious ship shows up and launches missiles at them. Droid takes evasive maneuvers, which ends up injuring 5, and then jumping on a course to the ship's original destination, which she was able to recover. On the way there, 3 finds a mysterious door in the lower levels of the ship, which he tries to blast open, but ends up hurting himself. He doesn't tell anyone about the door or why he's injured. Its prolly a good thing he didn't open it, because 5 tells 6 she had a vision of a scary door in a dark place that shouldn't be opened. Not that she knows she's referring to the door 3 found.

She also tells Two she had a dream that's not hers, where "she" lived in a palace, and got attacked, but she killed them and carved their eyes out. Two is a little unnerved, particularly since 5 says its not her dream.

One finds a mysterious necklace in the quarters he's taken up, and Four finds a mysterious box hidden in a locker that he plays with.

They eventually make it to the planet, and its full of independent miners who are mistrustful of them. They wonder if the crew is from the corps, here to oust them, or if they're Hgothar's people. For some reason, Six is all, "Maybe?" Like, you don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Hgothar could be like some ahole who like killed and raped and tortured a bunch of them.

In any case, Three blusters through all this, claiming their ship was damaged and they just headed here because it was the nearest inhabited planet, not mentioning anything about them not knowing who they actually are. The kind miners welcome them to some supplies and they talk.

So they had stayed independent for a while because they were a small mining company, unworthy of corporate interest. But then some corp surveyors found a motherlode, so now the corps want to oust them. They sent "the raza" after them, whom the miners think are these scary 7 foot unkillable lizard people. But, they're not leaving, so they had pooled their money to buy a shipment of arms, enough to arm everyone in the colony.

Because the crew had a whole shipment of arms in the cargo hold, and one notices the same necklace on the head miner's daughter, played by Katie from Degrassi, he thinks they were there to deliver the weapons to them. Not that he tells that to the miners.

Speaking of Katie, I'm still trying to figure out if she's part Asian since she has Asian-esque eyes. I mean, she has blond hair and blue eyes, but as I said once before, when she turned all gothy on degrassi and dyed her hair black, I didn't recognize her at first and was all, "weird, who's that new Asian girl in the opening sequence?"

But I digress. One convinced the weapons belong to the miners, wants to give the weapons to them. Three wants to sell them for money to hopefully figure out who they are. Four thinks its pointless to help the miners, they're as good as dead. But 5 and 6 want to help. Two, being the defacto captain, thinks they should give the miners half the weapons and then sell the other half to get money to learn what happened to them.

Only, the boys are on their way to deliver the weapons when Droid recovered some data in her memory banks. Turns out 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 have arrest warrants out on them, and are all guilty of murder, as well as other things like arson and theft. And the ship's name is the Raza. So the ep ends with Two thinking they were the people hired to wipe out the miners.

So, interesting enough, its kinda Bourne Identity-ish in that respect. Possible assassins who last their memory and are trying to figure out what's going on.
